    Millwright - Molteno

    Job Description

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a  Millwright  to join our Groceries  Division. The role will be based in Molteno , Eastern Cape and reports to the Plant Manager. 

    Minimum Requirements    
    Qualifications and experience 

    • Grade 12 or N5 –N6 or NCV Technical qualifications
    • Qualified Trade tested Millwright
    • Minimum of 3 years POST Trade experience with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
    • Must have worked or had an exposure on bakery environment
    • Working on Packaging machines will be advantageous
    • Experience with fault finding on PLC systems
    • Welding
    • Must have FMCG experience

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Repair failures on equipment’s to restore functionality of the equipment
    • Carry out preventative maintenance work to ensure that equipment’s performance is at ultimate output
    • Carry out root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrence of failures
    • Ensure job cards are completed timeously and all relevant information is captured
    • Carry out daily inspections on the machines and report any defects that may have noticed
    • Ensure all equipment is made safe before work is carried out and all safety equipment are functional at all times
    • Decide on which parts needs replacement and any additional work required
    • Decide on additional activity that is required to improve performance
    • Assist production team in machine start-ups and set-ups every morning
    • To organise and pre-planned maintenance activities on the basis of repairing plant machineries
    • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical/electrical equipment.
    • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
    • Do maintenance repair and troubleshooting for electrical systems and apparatus.

    Buyer

    Job Description

    • Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Buyer for the Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and will report into the Senior Buyer.
    • The Buyer will be responsible to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely buying of technical components that meets the required engineering specifications and quality standards.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Relevant 3-year Degree (Supply Chain, B.Com, Procurement or Business-related field).
    • Relevant ERP (Syspro) experience will be an advantage.
    • 5 years plus experience within procurement and the engineering environment – (Technical = mechanical, electrical).
    • Purchasing experience within an FMCG environment is critical.

    Competencies:

    • Advanced technical understanding of engineering parts and components.
    • Sound understanding of clearing agents, duties and taxes.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Purchasing - Engineering stores and Services:

    • Buying of the Engineering stores spares, components and working closely with the maintenance teams to understand exact requirements for preventative maintenance.
    • Participates in operations and engineering meetings.
    • Escalates complex issues to the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager.
    • Drive a culture of commitment to Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s).
    • Engineering store team to ensure correct order quantities; cost savings, correct specifications; correct suppliers and appropriate stock levels in stores to avoid shortages or excesses stock.
    • Utilises regular communication channels and team meetings to promote continuous improvement and compliance.
    • Engages with stakeholders on process and supplier information.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager in evaluating and qualifying new vendors, while managing performance of existing ones.
    • Continues benchmarking to support negotiations and supplier selection; compliance; terms and conditions, quality, lead times.
    • Support on supplier for relevant upload based on LOA (i.e. pricing agreement, service contract, SLA etc).

    Order and Supplier Management:

    • Creating of purchase orders for direct and indirect on receipt of fully completed buying requisitions or workflows that have been approved in accordance with the Company policy and procedures, and Levels of Authority.
    • Ensure all requests have the correct authorisation as per policy.
    • Ensure on time at the best price with the best supplier or as per Group contract, site/local contracts and pricing agreements.
    • Actions and converts buying requisitions into ERP generated purchase orders on a timely and efficient manner.

    Category and Contract Management:

    • Ensures accurate, contracts and pricing agreements are applied for all contracted goods.
    • Communicates any challenges regarding pricing to the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager.

    Engineering Stores Support:

    • In collaboration with the Senior Buyer, review and update appropriate stock levels, discontinued lines and ageing report provided by the Engineering Executive; ad hoc and quarterly – system and bins.
    • Report on unusual inventory volumes and spend to the Senior Buyer.
    • Reviews supplier efficiencies from an ordering, stock holding and delivery aspect.
    • Compliance with policies and practices.
    • In collaboration with the Senior Buyer, Engineer and Store Supervisor monitor and report redundancies and report on stock levels.

    Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ):

    • Ensures understanding and competence at site level by ensuring and monitoring that policy and procedure training has been implemented.

    Reporting and Data management:

    • Update data on the procurement information system to enable access to reliable data and reporting.
    • Ensures compliance with all master data protocols.
    • Proposes system and process improvements to ensure ongoing relevance and accuracy of information.

    Governance:

    • Ensure that ethical standards and the requirements of the Company policy are adhered to.
    • Report and or escalate any areas of non- compliance appropriately.

    Storeman

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is currently recruiting for a Storeman to join our Speciality Division based in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for manage stock levels to ensure continuous production and that stock is rotated on a first in first out basis.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12.
    • At least 2 years working experience in the FMCG environment.
    • Good organising and administrative skills (Advanced Excel, Email, MS Teams).
    • Forklift Driving License

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Manage stock levels to ensure continuous production.
    • Ensure that stock is rotated on a First In First Out basis
    • When orders arrive ensure that goods are checked and correspond to the order, delivery note and / or invoice.
    • Record the date and time received and sign the relevant paperwork.
    • Any short and over deliveries must be recorded on the order, invoice and / or delivery note. The relevant paperwork must be signed by the Storeman and person responsible for deliveries.
    • Any goods returned to Suppliers must be recorded on the Goods Returned Note and signed by the Storeman and person collecting the goods.
    • Hand over paperwork for receipting to Receiving Clerk. Invoices, delivery notes & orders must be attached immediately on delivery.
    • Stock expensing on SAP
    • Received stock to be moved to allocated bin location. 
    • Maintain daily spot checks on stock items and facilitate monthly stock take, recording and giving reasons on any stock variances. Do investigations on missing stock and report to Senior Buyer and Plant Engineer.
    • Report engineering store issues, developments in daily engineering meetings. 
    • Request quotations and load workflows daily with use of Microsoft Teams Workflow system.
    • Communicate new received non-stock items to the engineering team.
    • Weekly follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders
    • Ensure housekeeping is maintained.
    • Ensure all lubrication, gas, oil, and chemical used in the engineering department are readily available on the MSDS file.
    • Identify new stock items, track, and request material codes from Master data.
    • Assist in weekly planning meetings by identifying spares needed for services, order and prioritize special requests.

    Creditors Controller

    • The suitable candidate will be required to control and follow up on creditors’ transactions and reconciliations and review work done by the creditors’ clerks and admin clerks.

    As a Creditors Controller, the job holder is expected to:

    • Make procedural decisions that fall within the ambit of responsibility.
    • Solve simple and moderately complex operational and JDE workflow problems within the ambit of responsibility.

    Payment Management

    • Review and block invoices and vendors for payment
    • Facilitate monthly and daily payment runs
    • Verify payments on the banking system and obtain approvals
    • Resolve any rejected payments

    General Administration

    • File and safeguard records within the area of responsibility
    • Compile ad hoc spreadsheets and analysis when required
    • Ad-hoc requests from AP Accountant / Financial Accountant

    Information and Data management

    • Ensure team members accurately and regularly capture data onto JDE to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision-making
    • Share relevant data with management teams to enable reliable business decision-making
    • Create a workflow to update Vendor details on JDE when required

    • The purpose of this role is to to provide support to Boiler House Foreman and monitor all boilers that are online and supervision over the ash handler. It also consists of ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes of practice and standards.
