    Application Support Specialist

    Purpose of Job

    • Provide SAP materials management as well as SAP sales and distribution support to SAP users to fulfil customer demands and the broader commercial energy solutions and mobility. Perform end-user support (e.g. after-hours and stand-by), system testing, system change implementation, master data management, and automation of supply chain business processes. Enable and preserve business operations continuity in the order to cash process. Delver first-line systems and super-user support, perform system monitoring, and assist in the configuration and testing of systems changes.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Deliver first-line support across the supply chain including systems and super-user support according to the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) within 72 hours.
    • Monitor system performance enabling uninterrupted order processing during after-hours in conjunction with a stand-by team member.
    • Configure and test system changes associated with value chain improvement initiatives and system upgrades.
    • Coordinate change management practices on system changes.
    • Generate Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) as well as functional and technical specifications of user requirements.
    • Liaise with governance, risk, and compliance stakeholders to resolve SAP role conflicts and create new SAP user groups when and as needed.
    • Assist users in developing profiles and addressing access issues. Log in information pertaining to helpdesk requests in the relevant database.
    • Compile and sustain systems procedures and work instructions for future reference.
    • Conduct system trainings to end-users on the proper utilisation of applications.
    • Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
    • Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to enable the provision of exceptional application support services.
    • Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.

    SHE Ventilation Recorder

    Purpose of Job

    • To enable, support, and facilitate safe and responsible operations to achieve zero harm and sustainability targets.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Delivery targets (e.g. tons, products, service Monitor and respond proactively to hazards in the workplace).
    • Conduct hazard identification in the workplace.
    • Facilitate safety related risk assessments.

    Master Artisan Eletro Mechanic

    Purpose of Job

    • To support production by leading the provision of effective electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and reliability while overseeing and ensuring the adherence to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant, mine and/or equipment.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Planning, control and management of operations/maintenance activity and ensuring effective execution of operations/maintenance activities.
    • Ensure maximum task quality and efficiency, and overall effective use of equipment.
    • Manage and control costs (where allocated budget responsibility is assigned).
    • During emergency situations, evaluate the abnormalities and take corrective action as to avoid downtime, equipment damage and/or SHE incidents.
    • Ensure own team adhere to operational/maintenance procedures and for people and plant.
    • Ensure maintenance planning is scheduled optimally to maximise production output.
    • Take action on first occurrence performance problems, misconduct, disciplinary and grievance cases.
    • Manage performance of own team and ensure sensitisation to diversity in the workplace.
    • Enable artisans to achieve competence for career progression.
    • Coaching and technical training of own staff and accountable for practical "declaration of competence" of employees to operate the plant.

    • Ensure that MOC process is followed, and that modified plant/maintenance procedures are implemented by artisans.
    • Ensure resources (e.g. raw materials, people) are available on site.
    • Ensures understanding of customer requirements and ensures product/service meets customer requirements.
    • Ensure smooth transition of work from own shift to next shift.
    • Effective interaction with supporting activities e.g. P&SM, technical, engineering. Identifies and supports inter-dependencies (synergies) with own and other departments within the value chain.
    • Give input into how to improve overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for the plant.
    • Continuously applies new ideas/work methods to improve results.

    Senior Technical Advisor Transport Fuels and Lubricants

    Purpose of Job

    • The Senior Technical Advisor for Transport Fuels and Lubricants plays a pivotal role in delivering expert technical leadership across the Sasol Energy value chain, ensuring the quality, performance, and application of transport fuels, lubricants, and related products. The advisor is responsible for maintaining a product portfolio and basket of products, fuels and lubricants, that are fit for purpose and support the business and technical strategies of the Commercials sales team. This includes guiding the development of fit-for-purpose technical solutions, supporting product formulation and troubleshooting, and contributing to technical product roadmaps aligned with business strategy and customer needs. The advisor also provides technical marketing support during tender processes by articulating the product’s value proposition, quality management, sustainability, including renewable alternatives, and value-added services. Additionally, the role involves leading technical investigations, ensuring robust product governance, identifying new business opportunities, collaborating with engineering teams to enhance operational performance, managing stakeholder interfaces, delivering training, and aligning technical outputs with business objectives.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Technical Leadership: Deliver expert guidance on product quality, equipment, and technical claims across the Sasol Energy value chain, ensuring robust product governance and alignment with business objectives.
    • Customer technical support: Provide technical market support, incident investigation, problem solving, and product optimisation for Sasol’s energy products and customers, maximising operational performance and “money per molecule.”
    • Cross-functional Integration: Foster synergies across the product portfolio and operations, collaborating closely with engineering, marketing, and sales to optimise outcomes and ensure technical solutions are implemented effectively at forecourts, commercial installations, depots, gantries, logistics, and in marketing materials.
    • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Sasol at specification, industry, and regulatory bodies, build strategic relationships with key partners, and act as the main interface between end-users, business units, and operations/research teams.
    • Product Roadmap and Development: Contribute to the development and execution of technical product roadmaps that support business strategy, drive product differentiation, and enable cost optimisation. Identify and stage new projects to explore market opportunities for new and existing products.
    • Governance and Quality Assurance: Design and optimise product and quality governance processes to ensure delivery of fit-for-purpose products in the market, including effective technical marketing support, quality management, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Training and Team Leadership: Lead and develop team members through training and ongoing support, manage direct reports, facilitate regular meetings, and ensure delivery on KPAs and KPIs.
    • Budget Accountability: Oversee and manage the technical services budget and ensure resources are effectively allocated to achieve business goals.

    Formal Education

    • 4 year degree; B Eng or Hons in Science or equivalent

    • 9+ relevant years (at least 5 years in a technical support role)
