    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    • Manage the Driver Sales team to ensure deliveries are on time, in full, and according to agreed schedule and volumes

    Production Manager (FMCG)

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    • The main purpose of the role is to  manage the Plant’s efficiencies and overall capacity of the production facility and to ensure optimum performance and quality per shift, through the utilization of all relevant resources.  You will support continuous improvement initiatives, be responsible MECP process in production, shop-floor development etc, and provide leadership to your team on shift

    Responsibilities

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Manage product quality through entire production process to ensure all product is within specification – raw materials, lab tests, non-compliance and corrective actions. Zero tolerance for quality defects
    • Manage product throughput and extrusion process and packing  capacity – production plan, moistures and product streams
    • Minimise downtime – monitor flow, planned and preventative maintenance
    • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are complied with –housekeeping; HACCP; ISO, etc, no audit findings
    • Continuous improvement – OEE’s; waste reduction; cost saving initiatives; take the lead MECP to drive production
    • Motivate and manage staff – Townhalls; coaching, development; motivation; performance; discipline etc.
    • Ensure plant safety is followed according to OHS Act requirements, - safety programme implemented – zero tolerance for unsafe work activities

    Qualifications
    ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Core knowledge –  Packing process including Form fill and seal;  & extrusion process and principles; Operational Efficiencies – OEE; MECP; team management

You will support the team in administering RFX processes and system contracts, administering supply queries from sites and maintaining key category data (approved vendor listing, contracts, BEE data etc).
