    SHERQ Compliance Officer

    Job Purpose

    • To effectively work and communicate with the Operations management to continuously improve standards.
    • To plan, develop and implement techniques, processes and procedures for controlling the desired level of quality for all goods stored and supplied by the region/site.
    • To coordinate with principals and suppliers, warehouse and transport management and customers to resolve quality and food safety issues.
    • To ensure compliance to all company and group policies and standards affecting food quality and safety

    Key Responsibilities

    Legislative and Policy Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with the Food Safety and the OHSACT, NEMA and associated regulations and legislations.
    • Ensure the region and sites have the current Vector SHE and quality and food safety standards and procedures as well as Customer requirements in place and adhered to.
    • Ensure documentation completion and submission requirements are adhered to.
    • Ensure all internal policies are aligned to legislative requirements and best practice.
    • Review and update all SHERQ procedures and checklists.
    • Ensure that all internal audits are planned and actioned according to schedule
    • Pass all customer and external audits and retain applicable certifications

    Operational Compliance Support and Auditing

    • Co-ordinate the development, implementation and management of a standardized integrated SHERQ management system as per the required standard.
    • Conduct internal audits and inspections and manage external certification audits.
    • Implement and maintain quality tools to ensure quality control and compliance.
    • Provide management and staff training as applicable
    • Ensure that all traceability and recalls procedures are followed
    • Accompany inspectors and auditor during on-site inspections and audits and respond to regulatory non-compliances
    • Maintain the HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, HIRA and ERA systems and other SHERQ information and documentation
    • Implement, administer, monitor and maintain the Operations SHERQ programmes and associated documentation
    • Update all SHE & food safety systems, lists and files
    • Ensure that Risk prevention and emergency procedures are identified and implemented.
    • Conduct workplace and job specific hazard analysis to identify potential hazards
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk control measures and recommend changes
    • Maintain risk registers
    • Communicate risk control and risk management information by analyzing data, developing indictors, producing and presenting required reports and advising management accordingly.
    • Liaise with external bodies eg. Department of Employment and Labour, fire department, contractors, service provider and emergency services with regard to local governmental compliance requirements and best practice.
    • Risk management (HACCP/TACCP/VACCP/HIRA/ERA/ Food defense, fire and security)
    • Conduct Root Cause Analysis for SHERQ related non-conformances identified
    • Ensure corrective action plans and actions for audits, incident investigations and customer complaints are completed
    • Contractor management
    • Assist with the development of SHERQ Objectives and Targets, Continual Improvement Plans and Injury Reduction Plans and facilitate the completion of actions required to fulfil these requirements
    • Change Management

    Incident Investigation

    • Conduct post incident investigations in order to identify root causes and determine appropriate preventative and corrective action
    • Champion the implementation of corrective actions
    • Ensure proper administration of the incident reporting and investigation system, legal documents and registers
    • Analyze and investigate customer complaints. Facilitate interventions to address the problem and monitor improvements
    • Seek continual improvement in the SHERQ space by regularly monitoring regional and site activities and assess the implications of new developments.
    • Ensure that Corrective Action Plans are in place, updated and track the close out of required actions whilst maintaining evidence of close outs

    Communication and Reporting

    • Capture all SHERQ related data on time and in full
    • Analyse data, develop leading indicators, determine trends and produce and present required reports to advise management accordingly.
    • Engage with external bodies (eg. Department of Health and service providers) with regards to compliance requirements and best practice.
    • Advise project managers regarding the requirements of contractors on site, safety files etc.
    • Ensure Risk and SHE Rep meetings are held at the prescribed frequencies and minutes are communicated and signed off

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of 3 years working in a food hygiene and/or health and safety environment implementing food safety and health and safety policies
    • Good understanding of FSSC 22000/ISO 22000, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
    • Experience in the implementation and management of integrated ISO systems
    • Valid Code EB drivers

    Logistics Operations Manager (Night Shift)

    Job Purpose

    • To lead and execute all warehouse and transport activities during a designated shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate operations aligned to plan, while maintaining strict control over productivity, stock integrity, and service delivery

    Key Responsibilities

    Shift Execution & Control

    • Execute operational plan across inbound, outbound, and transport
    • Ensure real-time decision-making to resolve bottlenecks
    • Maintain full control of floor operations (system + physical)
    • Deliver shift handover aligned to required standards

    Inbound Operations (Execution)

    • Ensure booking adherence and queue management
    • Manage truck turnaround times (TAT)
    • Oversee GRV accuracy and completion
    • Ensure putaway is completed within SLA
    • Maintain inbound floor discipline (no backlog/spillages)
    • Drive immediate resolution of NCAs

    Inventory Integrity (Control)

    • Execute daily counts and ensure variance resolution
    • Run and action risk reports
    • Manage product isolation and recalls
    • Ensure accuracy of catchweight and STO processes
    • Control returnable packaging and operational assets

    Outbound Operations (Execution)

    • Deliver picking, checking, and loading vs plan
    • Ensure load plan adherence
    • Control replenishment and stock flow
    • Ensure system clearance and billing readiness
    • Prevent short picks, mis-picks, and delays

    Transport Execution

    • Execute dispatch plan and ensure on-time departures
    • Manage load expediting and exceptions
    • Conduct driver debriefs and resolve issues
    • Manage returns, redeliveries, and exceptions
    • Monitor fleet availability and operational readiness

    Productivity & Labour Management

    • Drive shift productivity across all functions
    • Allocate labour dynamically based on demand
    • Monitor performance vs targets in real time

    MHE & Asset Control

    • Ensure availability and utilisation of MHE
    • Monitor condition and safe usage
    • Control operational assets (scanners, pallets, crates, rolltainers)

    Safety, Risk & Compliance

    • Enforce all SHERQ standards during shift
    • Ensure housekeeping standards maintained
    • Act immediately on unsafe conditions
    • Ensure compliance with SOPs and policies

     Administration & Systems Control

    • Ensure completion of all operational admin
    • Validate system vs physical alignment
    • Ensure no open transactions at end of shift
    • Maintain data integrity

    Shift Planning & Handover

    • Plan next shift requirements (labour, volume, constraints)
    • Deliver structured and accurate handovers
    • Highlight risks, backlogs, and priorities
