    Product Developer : Pet & Baby

    Introduction

    • To interpret customer needs and lifestyle trends to deliver a product development plan that delivers leading innovation, maximises core growth, ensures consistent high quality, value for money and exceeds our customer’s expectations, whilst contributing to the respective category’s overall profitability.

    Job description

    • Integrate and implement product strategy into development plans for the relevant department(s):
    • Understand the retail competitor market & customer need states to meet and exceed expectations.
    • Apply customer & trends insights into product development briefs for suppliers.
    • Drive and maintain a world-class sustainable product and packaging standard and framework:
    • Integrate with Central Quality & Suppliers to conduct and analyse comparative and directional benchmarking and translate outcomes into product plans where applicable.
    • Display a clear understanding of the science (aesthetics, sensorial elements, safety aspects) of the relevant category, while keeping abreast and implementing new advancements where relevant.
    • Inspire and influence the product teams and key stakeholders to deliver industry leadership positions:
    • Collaboratively and inclusively integrate with key stakeholders in achieving key product development milestones, ensuring a commercial and sustainability lens is considered at all times.
    • Timeously achieve milestones by consistently encouraging and aligning quality outputs

    Minimum requirements

    • BSc Consumer Science or Relevant degree/ diploma.
    • 3- 5 years   foods product development or related experience
    • Pet and / or Baby experience will be advantageous
    • A Passion and understanding of Pet and Baby category
    • Understanding of the Pet & Baby market
    • A superior eye for detail and product flair is essential
    • Ability to interpret and drive innovation strategy across category
    • An innovative specialist that can work independently, who can assertively initiate, drive and execute new product development

    Planner: Protein

    Introduction

    • Maximise trading opportunities by providing accurate forecasts of customer demand through management by exception, optimising inventory management through the supply chain and store catalogues within defined parameters.

    Job description

    • Optimise the continuous availability of product in the department to meet customer demand
    • Contribute to the department plan with a specific focus on planning objectives and requirements
    • Develop and manage the department plan in line with planning principles to ensure Food Range (depth & breadth of range) delivers availability, sales and profitable growth
    • Communicate and ensure adherence to all key objectives and priorities from the Category Operating Plan to the department teams
    • Assist department team to prioritise objectives and resources to deliver operating plan, both from a product and people perspective
    • Define, set and monitor product flow models and integrate with Supply Chain and cross functional team to ensure delivery of the department plans
    • Contribute to the Category Scorecards to ensure stretch budgets and targets are set for the department
    • Review department performance against Department Scorecards
    • Integrate with team to set and achieve operational KPI’s – Sales, waste, availability, and financial accountable contribution of the Foods Department.
    • Set, monitor and deliver inventory plans and achieve all inventory targets (sales, service levels, stock cover, forecast accuracy, waste cost %, availability) in line with customer availability objectives for the Category Operating Plan
    • Provide input and influence the replenishment processes and key inventory levers
    • Complete the analysis of historical performance to feedback to trading team with regards to opportunities and risks and that these are considered in the development of future plans
    • Participate and influence in all department reviews by ensuring that the Planning KPI’s analysis is ready for the reviews
    • Minimise waste and write offs of product.
    • Support the team from a planning perspective to actively ensure that GBJ projects are successful.
    • Build key relationships with suppliers and stores to drive effective process management within the category.
    • Contribute to the development of an integrated category/development plan that delivers a product range that in turn delivers profitable growth, whilst being mindful of planning principles.

    Minimum requirements

    • Preferably B.Com Degree/Commercial qualification
    • Ideally 3 – 5 years planning/commercial experience planning
    • Understanding of the respective category is advantageous
    • Good computer literacy, with an above average grasp of all office applications
    • Must have good knowledge of  supply chain operations  i.e. Suppliers , DC, Stores and understands the supply chain concepts and values
    • Very good analytical and numerical ability
    • Very good planning and organisational ability
    • Very good business acumen, judgement and problem-solving skills
    • Very good team player, demonstrates integration skills in all interactions
    • Ability to deliver good results under stressful situations
    • Proven ability to effectively use a statistical forecasting tool
    • Proven ability to evaluate availability and waste metrics and implement integrated solutions that deliver category profitability targets
    • Good understanding of supply chains/ inventory management systems and their processes (e.g. LDE forecasting), order management
    • Good understanding of stores, customer and product profiles, and their relationship to range/ catalogue and space planning

    IT Solutions Architect

    • Conduct research and provide thought leadership to guide the business and IT strategy for transformational projects and optimisation opportunities
    • Define solutions for Woolworths in support of the business strategy
    • Proactively define and support the Woolworths Architecture landscape, in partnership with various parties to ensure governance is adhered to
    • Contribute to the development of IT architecture frameworks, processes, methodologies and templates
    • Document future-fit solution designs with sustainability and scalability in mind, considering impacts and dependencies, in collaboration with Business Process Analysts, Application leads, Enterprise Architects and business subject matter experts
    • Proactively identify, mobilise and deliver IT opportunities for continuous improvements, as input to the IT Operating Plan
    • Proactively identify business risks and mitigations, based on architecture principles and guidelines
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders across Woolworths IT and Business
    • Lead and Support Woolworths project solution requirements by ensuring engagement and alignment across the Woolworths landscape
    • Collaborate with Woolworths cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for Strategic Projects and Operating Plan initiatives
