Job Description

- We are looking for a detail-driven Digital Marketing Coordinator to support the planning, briefing, execution, testing and optimisation of digital customer communications across email, SMS, push notifications, digital catalogue campaigns and other CRM channels that drive customer engagement, retention and sales.

Digital Campaign Planning & Execution
- Receive, interpret, and execute the monthly CRM Campaign Plan, ensuring all campaign requirements are accurately implemented.
- Incorporate campaign instructions, including promotional mechanics, vouchers, product priorities, customer offers, and campaign schedules.
- Develop, execute, and optimise digital customer communications across email, SMS, push notifications, and other CRM channels.
- Create, build, schedule, and deploy email, SMS, and push notification campaigns in accordance with approved briefs, campaign objectives, and timelines.
- Ensure all customer communications are delivered accurately, on time, and aligned with brand, customer experience, and commercial objectives.
Campaign Development & Content Management
- Create and manage customer-facing email, SMS, and push notification content for promotional, operational, and service-related communications, including load shedding updates where required.
- Develop campaign emailers, block mailers, filler emails, digital catalogues, banners, and tactical marketing communications using approved templates and brand standards.
- Create engaging and customer-friendly digital catalogues for email and SMS campaigns, ensuring content is optimised for customer experience and conversion.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Conduct comprehensive testing and quality assurance checks on all email, SMS, and push notification campaigns prior to deployment.
- Validate links, copy, pricing, product information, promotional mechanics, personalisation logic, and mobile responsiveness to ensure an error-free customer experience.
- Identify and resolve campaign issues proactively before launch.
Catalogue & Content Coordination
- Digitise catalogues on OCC and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and timely completion.
- Liaise with external partners, including Mobiz, to convert homechoice catalogues into mobi catalogues, coordinating testing, feedback, and continuous improvements to customer communications.
Audience Management & Campaign Support
- Develop knowledge and capability in creating campaign queries and customer segmentation for targeted marketing communications.
- Download, prepare, and manage audience lists for email, SMS, social media, and external marketing platforms as required.
- Support campaign targeting initiatives, including customer audience preparation for Facebook and Mobiz campaigns.
Campaign Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain campaign schedules, briefing calendars, trackers, and status reports to ensure visibility of campaign progress and delivery milestones.
- Monitor and report on key campaign performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, conversions, engagement levels, and other relevant CRM indicators.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve customer engagement and campaign effectiveness.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with Marketing, Merchandise, CRM, Digital, and external partners to ensure seamless campaign execution.
- Ensure all email, SMS, and push notification activities comply with brand standards, customer communication principles, POPIA requirements, and applicable data privacy regulations.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and customer experience across all digital communications.
What you’ll need to do this role
- A relevant diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in Digital marketing (Email, SMS or CRM)
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines at the same time.
- Good working knowledge of email marketing platforms, SMS tools, customer segmentation and campaign execution processes.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to check copy, links, pricing, product information, targeting rules and final campaign outputs accurately.
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with merchandising, planning, creative, CRM and digital teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot campaign, product, stock or execution issues quickly.
- Basic analytical ability to review campaign performance, identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment where priorities can shift and turnaround times are tight.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook; exposure to HTML, campaign builders, analytics tools or marketing automation platforms will be an advantage.
