    HR Business Partner

    Description

    • The Key Deliverables include but are not limited to: 

    Talent Acquisition

    • Championing and supporting the end-to-end Talent Acquisition experience.
    • Liaising with Line Managers to update and/or design of Job Profiles.
    • Advertising vacancies on the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Facilitating the shortlisting of candidates in line with the minimum requirements of the vacancy.
    • Facilitating and arranging interviews with the shortlisted candidates.
    • Ensuring that interview guides are drafted, and questions are selected from the agreed upon list of competency-based questions.
    • Ensuring that Line Managers are adequately prepared for the interview and selection process.
    • Liaising with and facilitating background, qualification, criminal and reference checks with MIE and/or any other service provider.
    • Ensuring that the entire Talent Acquisition experience is completed within the agreed upon turnaround time of two months.

    Employee Relations

    • Facilitation of all employee relations services including performance and disciplinary hearings and the representation at the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).
    • Facilitating Section 189 Consultations relating to operational requirements for restructures, efficiencies, and cost containment.
    • Ensure the Company’s Human Resource practices comply with labour legislation and the terms of its broadcasting conditions.

    Support

    • Driving the full generalist basket of deliverables (including Performance Management; Talent Acquisition; Employee Relations; Organisational Design; Organisational Effectiveness; and Employment Equity) ensuring operational excellence.
    • Remaining apprised of all relevant and applicable amendments to labour legislation, providing an analysis of potential impact on the business and recommendation how to adapt policies and practices accordingly.
    • Maintaining and updating all HR policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring implementation.
    • Managing all workplace/stakeholder relationships by consulting and advising stakeholders regarding legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice.
    • Providing support to management and staff in managing performance and facilitate the implementation of the performance improvement process (PIP) to resolve any identified performance problems.

    Stakeholder Relationships

    • Building, supporting and maintaining interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.
    • Fielding employee and line manager queries and directing to the appropriate team member

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in Human Resources or a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources; and
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in the capacity of HR Business Partner / HR Generalist;

    Reporter: Durban

    Description

    • The incumbent would be required to report on news stories of the day through, live content and packages.  

    Interpersonal and team relationships

    Conducting Research

    • Conducting research and writing scripts on topics prior to broadcasts.
    • Identifying newsworthy events and developments and generating unique story ideas from this.
    • Attend weekly diary meetings to pitch, discuss story ideas and developments and plan the week ahead with the team.
    • Generating thought provoking and compelling stories.
    • Checking electronic media (wires), social media and articles of interest.
    • Checking archives for specified and appropriate visuals.

    Conducting Interviews

    • Representing the organization at conferences, press briefings, events, and interviews.
    • Interviewing eyewitnesses, authorities, and people of interest in news stories.
    • Assigning & Briefing the Camera Operator and Interviewee prior to broadcast.
    • Conducting preliminary telephonic interviews.
    • Asking probing follow-up questions.
    • Ensuring interviews contain a variety of voices and/or angles.

    Writing Scripts

    • Writing scripts in line with visuals.
    • Transcribing and summarizing events for further news purposes.
    • Providing time coded short list with all scripts for Sub-Editors.
    • Checking facts with relevant stakeholders to ensure that stories are accurate and unbiased.
    • Deliver a well-researched story including a video that has unique angles for eNCA`s online audience.

    Reporting

    • Updating and maintaining a strong contact base for story ideas.
    • Knowledge of current local, national and international news.
    • Traveling to events and ensuring the proper maintenance, security, and care of recording equipment.
    • Working collaboratively with Cameramen and other members of a reporting team.
    • Attending and reporting on events that are of interest to the public.
    • Delivering scripted, spontaneous, live, and prerecorded reports on newsworthy events.
    • Provide compelling packages with content for television.
    • Conducting live and on camera interviews that are hard-hitting and probing.
    • Conducting live reports from the field ensuring accuracy and objectivity.
    • Ensuring stories have depth and quality.
    • Doing in-studio lives that are professional and informative.
    • Providing the news desk with regular updates on stories by adhering to the editorial deadlines.
    • Adhering to story deadlines.
    • Taking a multi-media approach to individual stories done by use of graphics and animations thereby ensuring good sound quality, still pictures as well as moving visuals and overall content are shared, prepared and edited properly – ready for air.
    • Ensuring a professional appearance, language use, and manner throughout reports.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • National Senior Certificate - Essential
    • 3-year National Diploma in Media Studies/ Television/ Journalism and/or Communications - Essential

    Experience

    • 5 years as a Reporter in News/Television and/or Broadcast Journalism - Essential
    • Driver's License - Essential
    • Own Vehicle - Recommended

    Computer Literacy

    • MS Office Suite - Advanced

    Engineer - JHB

    Description

    • Reporting to the Manager: Engineering, the key performance areas include but are not limited to: 

    Technical Support

    • Providing technical support during live broadcasts.
    • Providing technical line-ups,testing and routing of all incoming live satellite and fibre feeds.
    • Assisting SNG/ENG crews with repairs and maintenance of their equipment.
    • Providing first line support to all operational personnel.
    • Assisting in diagnosing and correcting faults finding down to component level.
    • Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
    • Ensuring drawings and documentation are up to date if future installation changes occur.

    Preventative Maintenance

    • Performing preventative maintenance per published schedule.
    • Completing routine system checks as per published schedule.
    • Identifying possible breakdown points and develop preventative plans to minimize down time.
    • Investigating and submitting fault finding report during breakdowns to prevent furture downtime.
    • Investigating escalated incidenets to responsible service owners and seek resolution.
    • Facilitating recovery following resolution of incidents.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • A National Diploma and/or Advanced Certificate and/or Bachelor of Engineering is essential. 
    • Certification in A+,N+, CCNA, SQL would be advantageous. 
    • Certification HTML,Javascript would be advantageous. 
    • A minimum of 2 years experience in Broadcast Engineering is essential.
