    ZA Silviculture Forester Dukuduku

    Your mission

    • Reporting to the Snr Silviculture Forester the incumbent in this position will assist with the management of forestry plantations in the respective area.
    • Manage contractors (mainly silviculture but also roads and security)
    • Conduct quantity, quality and safety audits
    • Compliance to Safety & Occupational Health Act & FSC requirements
    • Improve productivity through innovation and optimize cost efficiencies in all operations
    • Production planning and adherence to APO & Budget targets
    • Ensure data integrity of the compartment information database

    Your profile

    • BSc Degree / BTech or National Diploma in Forestry
    • Specialized knowledge related to forestry, harvesting and logistics
    • Minimum of 3 years Silviculture experience dealing directly with the contractor running his/her own WPU
    • Minimum 3 years firefighting experience and managing firefighting operations
    • In depth knowledge of Silviculture, experience in the management of contractors and sound knowledge of FSC principles

    Laboratory Analyst

    Your mission:

    • Perform main laboratory analyst functions in measuring of pulp quality, raw materials quality, printing quality and providing feedback regarding testing and findings
    • Analyze data, interpret and record quality data
    • Updating systems, procedures and calibrate equipment regarding statutory requirements
    • Prepare documentation and systems for auditing

    Fibre Supply Chain Manager

    Your mission:

    • Manage and coordinate the MSA Forestry Fibre Balance 
    • Manage the annual budget quarterly reviews and monthly Flash timeframes within Fibre Supply
    • Manage the fibre demand and supply into all Mondi markets 
    • Manage the minimum certification Forestry Steward Certification (FSC) and Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody and applicable regulatory targets as required (e.g. EUDR)
    • Ensure that logistics and supply chain balancing, forecasting, replenishment planning, and operations coordination is carried out with stakeholders within fibre balance timeframes
    • Manage the rail transport operations including maintaining relations with stakeholders

    Logistics Coordinator - Zululand

    Your mission:

    • Provide collaborative interface between Mondi Forests Markets (Richards Bay Mill) and supply (Forests & Procurement) 
    • Supply chain planning for the Mondi Forests Markets (Richards Bay Mill), incl. suppliers, transport modes and volumes, pulp wood and biomass commodities, impacts of stock movement on supply. 
    • Manage the rail supply of timber into the Forests Markets (Richards Bay Mill)
    • Manage timber quality control and monitoring in line with mill specifications. 
    • Manage Forestry Steward Certification (FSC) and Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody and maintain Multisite certification system maintenance 
    • Ensure European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) compliance 
    • Responsible for fibre supply administration, operational and financial monitoring and reporting 
    • Maintain Corporate governance compliance within the department in line with Mondi framework
    • Assist Forests operations Zululand with Fibre trading as required from time to time
    • Participate in relevant projects / leadership when required

    Your profile:

    • BTech or BSc in Forestry 
    • A degree in Logistics will be advantageous
    • 5 years in a Forestry Harvesting and Transport role or a Logistics role
    • Experience in Forestry Chain of custody certification (FSC, PEFC) would be advantageous

    Mechanical Technician

    Your mission:

    • Providing technical support (in terms of data, information, etc.) to the maintenance execution team 
    • The execution of more complex maintenance activities, including the management of contractors required for these activities 
    • The role shall serve as the first call on break - down events to support the problem diagnosis and advise the maintenance execution team on appropriate corrective action 
    • Troubleshooting – understand and utilise technical drawings, P&ID’s, etc. for fault finding on plant problems 
    • Ensure adherence to engineering standards by the team during maintenance execution 
    • The role shall provide support to the planning department on routine maintenance and shut-down activities from a technical perspective 
    • Management of repairable and non-repairable spare parts as per the RACI definition of the process procedure, such as quality check activities, etc 
    • Analysis and ownership of actions arising from equipment condition-based monitoring reports (including scoping of work). Collaboration with condition-monitoring team from this perspective 
    • Management of operational risk arising from equipment defects and faults (‘mill equipment risk list’) 
    • Identify and implement small-scope improvement projects and initiatives from a technical design perspective with the intention on improving service life 
    • Auditing of the quality of service received by the Central Maintenance Services department 
    • Direct support and management (setting the standard) of the quality of maintenance execution in the plant 
    • Support the Mechanical engineer in ensuring compliance to all mill asset care procedures (with specific reference to Work Order, Technical Change and Shutdown Management processes) 
    • Support the Central Maintenance Services during appropriate technical processes (for example, RCFA investigations), identification of improvement potential and sources of loss, and development of applicable Engineering Standards for the mill

    Your profile:

    • 3 – 5 years experience as a qualified mechanical artisan within a manufacturing environment, preferably in Pulp and Paper
    • 2 years of experience as a Technician would be advantegous
    • Minimum N5 in Mechanical Engineering or Registered Mechanical Trade Test

    Process Engineering Manager

    Your mission:

    • Develop, perform and sign off process engineering work for the CAPEX department including marking up P&IDS, developing process control philosophies, leading HAZOP studies, valve lists, equipment lists, line lists and ensure legal compliance of all design work produced by the mill CAPEX department. 
    • Managing of the process engineering team.
    • Accountable for process scope within projects to ensure adherence to time, scope, quality and environmental constraints including project pre-engineering and project detailed engineering with respect to the process discipline. 
    • Ensure process design work developed by the department complies with Mondi and industry technical standards.
    • Ensure compliance with Mondi Safety, Health & Environmental policies.
    • Ensure compliance with South African legislation.
    • Lead process engineering department meetings as manager or delegate.

    Your profile:

    • BSc or BEng Chemical Engineering
    • Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligible
    • 8-12 years’ relevant experience in the pulp & paper, petroleum, water, sugar, energy, mining or related industries.
    • 8 years minimum experience in a projects environment.
    • Experience in understanding projects elements which includes scope, time, quality, costs, human resource, communication, risk and procurement management
    • Knowledge and experience in engineering design process
    • Experience in process control, applicable automation standards and process safety system related standards
    • Must have a reasonable understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. of South Africa
    • Must demonstrate to have completed end to end project process engineering work on capital projects

    Condition Monitoring Technician

    You mission:

    • Operate condition monitoring equipment by collecting data and analyzing
    • Suggesting Preventive Measures or timeline to repair to avoid Production loss
    • Generating condition monitoring reports and work orders, and following –up
    • Participating and supporting RCFA’s that are condition monitoring related
    • Recording of condition monitoring history and completed technical investigations
    • Review Tribology reports and suggesting preventive/corrective measures
    • Conduction Infra-red surveys, generating relevant reports and suggesting preventive/corrective measures
    • Improve mean time between failures (MTBF) by identifying equipment that have a short life cycle and identifying and recommend improvements to increase MTBF of equipment

    Your profile:

    • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanical artisan with two years’ experience as a Condition Monitoring Technician in a manufacturing environment preferably in Pulp and Paper
    • Minimum of N5 in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
    • Trade Tested Artisan Fitter or Millwright
    • Vibration Analysis CAT Level 1
    • Thermography CAT Level 1 will be advantageous
    • Tribology – Lubrication Level 1 or similar 
    • Code 08 / EB license
