ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
- As a Principal Employee Relations, you will be responsible to provide support to the HR Leadership Team to develop and execute short / medium / long term ER strategies consistent with current and future trends in ER / IR practice. The Principal Employee Relations develops and maintains appropriate governance structures to ensure compliance with workplace relations legislation and global consistency.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Support HR Operations Managers in Africa to review and execute IR/ER documents;
- Assist in delivery of Employee Relations activities for South32 functions in JHB;
- Represent South32 in internal and external engagements, high-risk disputes and arbitrations as required (including CCMA referral matters for complex cases (HMM/Hillside) and full coverage for JHB Office. This may include initiating internal disciplinary proceedings;
- Where required, act as an independent Chairperson to any internal South African cases deemed as dismissible offences or sensitive cases, for e.g. Harassment;
- Provide ER legal advice in general to the South Africa Operations, as and when required;
- Develop training content, as required for HR to deploy to line leaders;
- Contribute to the development of ER procedures, guidelines and reporting requirements;
- Assist in strategy setting and guide HR Business Partners in management of complex cases;
- Support HR Managers to review and audit ER risks and support where corrective mitigation plans are put in place;
- In conjunction with HR Managers provide input into, briefings and advice on employment-related matters for the South Africa Operations and the JHB Office;
- Facilitate the interpretation and implementation of employment arrangements, policies, procedures and applicable employment legislation;
- Support HR Managers during wage agreements, as required;
- Provide regular labour law updates and establish an ER network for all Africa ER personnel;
- Support the Mozal ER Principal where required.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- 5 years’ experience in a Legal or ER role;
- Sound understanding of the interpretation and governance requirements for Legislation and IR / ER Standards;
- Awareness of Labour laws (South Africa and Mozambique), Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Workers Compensation requirements;
- Experience in risk management and governance;
- Proficient negotiation, written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to interpret and explain complex legal regulations, policies, or procedures to a diverse group of stakeholders;
- Skilled advisor in challenging environments;
- Able to present complex ideas and material to a varied audience, internal, external, key stakeholders, senior leaders;
- Proficient level expertise in developing ER policy and practices.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Tertiary qualified LLB/Law or Bachelor IR/ER, Labour Relations.

- As a Lead Reporting & Governance , you will be responsible to lead, develop and manage the performance of the South32 Global Business Services (GBS) R&G function. To effectively manage the timely execution of mandated activities; with effective delivery of all relevant functional services, in accordance with the Standards, Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and regional legislation, to all South32 customers.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Lead a team to drive operational excellence, ensuring services are delivered in a compliant, timely, and customer-focused manner, meeting performance metrics;
- Develop and implement strategies to manage staff performance, including addressing poor performance, conflict resolution, and identifying training needs;
- Foster functional integration within GBS, facilitating end-to-end data integration processes while identifying and mitigating risks;
- Provide comprehensive performance reporting against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all GBS services;
- The Risk Management expert / advisor to the group. Drive risk management and assurance activities across GBS, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place;
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis sessions to identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience, of which at least 2 years in a managerial position;
- Working knowledge of process improvement and methodology;
- Experience in provision of strategic direction for function;
- Display excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong business relationships with all key stakeholders;
- Working knowledge and at least 3 years experience in recognised Risk Management methodology.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
- As a technician system, you will be responsible to replace, maintain, install and repair electronics systems components and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Monitor recurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to rectify the fault;
- Inspect Locos & Surface Mobile Equipment for "Safe for Use" purposes, before handing back to user;
- Test vehicles after completion of work before delivery to users;
- Carry out monthly systems inspection & service;
- Repair, install and maintain the following systems on locomotives, road going vehicles and auxiliary equipment;
- Collision Avoidance System;
- Electronics systems (leads, battery terminals, etc.);
- Two-way radios; Dispatch (Modular), Tracking and Monitoring, Reverse Cameras, Displays / Monitoring Screen, MAPs and FAPs, Radio Repeaters and Battery Booster systems.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- 2 years relevant experience in auto systems/electronics maintenance & installation;
- In-depth knowledge of 1SAP, IMT Cas System, Motorola Radios, C-track Tracking System and Modular Dispatch System.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Grade 12;
- Valid N4 Technical Certificate;
- Valid Trade Certificate in electrical/ mechanician/ electronic/ technician;

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
- As a Supervisor Supply Warehouse, you will be to supervise the execution of warehouse operational activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner and in line with S32 Standards, procedures and HSE requirements. Provide leadership guidance to the warehouse team. Ensure materials are stored, maintained and handled in a secure, accurate and appropriate manner.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Supervise, coaches and leads the warehouse team to ensure delivery against plans;
- Ensure that critical controls are implemented and effective with verification activities conducted as per requirements;
- Spend appropriate time in field to supervise the execution of warehouse work to achieve established performance targets and to ensure warehouse processes comply with internal procedures and HSE requirements.(inventory is stored appropriately to support safety, preservation and accessibility in line with requirements.);
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective warehouse operation services;
- Provide relevant information to management to ensure the best execution of production plans within the stipulated time;
- Actively participate in warehouse improvement projects.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 4 - 6 years Warehouse/Supply experience in a heavy industrial environment of which 1 year is in a supervisory capacity;
- Acting opportunities in a supervisor role will be advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team with strong communication skills;
- Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to work under pressure;
- Experience in warehouse and logistics activities;
- Experience using SAP.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain or Warehousing.
