    Diesel Technician - Middelburg

    What you will do

    The main purpose of the job is to produce the required labor hours through maintenance and repair work, in accordance with the Company quality and efficiency standards.

    Job Objectives:

    • Fault-finding and diagnosis on Volvo Products by interpreting product “under performance” and/or failure.
    • Interpret and implement information in Volvo Manual and Service Literature.
    • By following directives provided in Workshop Manuals, produce work of Volvo acceptable standards.
    • Follow repair, maintenance instructions and specifications as per the manual.
    • Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes.
    • Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions and recommendations.
    • Follow procedures for breakdown work:
    • Liaise with driver before responding to customer breakdowns;
    • Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before submission.
    • Compliance to ISO 9001 and other Safety standards.

    Qualification & Job Experience

    • Matric/N3.
    • Trade Test Certificate - Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
    • 3 years Dealership experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles.

    Key Competencies

    • Ability to read all relevant measuring equipment.
    • Knowledge/skills to effect correct repair work.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals and specifications and put into practice.
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
    • Computer literacy.

    Assembler ( 6 months fixed term contract) - Umbogintwini

    What you will do

    The main purpose of the job is to assemble Heavy Duty Trucks/Vehicles in line with the Volvo Production System Standards. 

    Job Objectives:

    • To assemble Vehicles and vehicle sub-components in line with Plant SQCDEP Targets and according to Sprint instructions.
    • Perform other related responsibilities and carry out 5S and housekeeping responsibilities.
    • To ensure that all tooling and equipment is well maintained.
    • Ensure that all SOPs and Safety regulations are well adhered to and immediately report deviations to the team leader.
    • Participate and contribute in all other Production related activities i.e., Kaizen and Gemba events.
    • Required to do Job Rotations on various Stations.

    Qualification & Job Experience

    • Matric with a pass in Math's.
    • Training will be provided.
    • Those with relevant/similar experience from the automotive industry will have a definite advantage.

    Key Competencies

    • Ability to use basic hand tools.
    • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions.
    • Should be technically minded and practical.
    • Computer skills (Basic).
    • Good Interpersonal Skills
