    Specialist Business Improvement

    Job Description:

    • You will be executing the Operating Model mandate at the operation by facilitating initiatives / business case development and tracking Operating Model improvements through the application of analyze and improve tools.
    • Provide process and Operating Model advise to line leaders to enable them to complete their approved improvement projects/ initiatives.
    • Conduct analysis required to support the Senior Manager – Operating Model and respective line managers to make critical decisions about potential business benefits and trade-off for a range of initiatives supported by Operating Model and opportunities to drive stability and capability improvement.
    • Ensure conformance to governance and project sign-off by identifying risks and effective management and tracking of projects and value delivery.
    • Develop and implement communication and change strategy per initiative through facilitating OM communication at the operation and ensuring buy in and commitment on initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma / Degree in any Engineering field (Mining, Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering) NQF Level 6.
    • Qualification in Smartsheets/PowerBI (any other Anglo used dashoarding software) will be advantageous.
    • Lean or Six Sigma certification will be advantageous.
    • Post graduate qualifications in strategy or business administration will be advantageous.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Mining, Process or Maintenance Engineering field within the Mining Industry.
    • Minimum of 1-year Business Improvement experience or a related field.
    • Development and/or use of dashboards in business improvement.

    The following would be advantageous:

    • Minimum of 1-year Project Management experience.

    Water Resource Coordinator

    Job Description:
    Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Facilitate collection of quantity and quality data from water sources (with assistance of Environmental/Water Assistant).
    • As directed by the Senior Engineer Water Resources, maintenance of inputs to water database, water balance and operational water dashboard.
    • Evaluate water quality and quantity data for correctness and authenticity.
    • Investigate incorrect/suspicious data and take the necessary corrective action and escalate when necessary.
    • Provide input for all daily/monthly/quarterly reporting.
    • Interpretation and reporting of wellfield (and other sources) performance on a regular basis or when required.
    • Liaison with hydrogeological consultants in terms of wellfield management plan and performance and escalate to Senior Engineer Water Resources.
    • Compilation of quarterly reports and the submission thereof to DWS in accordance with water permits.

    • Under guidance of Environmental Coordinator, incident reporting and investigation of water related spillages, discharges, leakages and contamination incidents.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with all commitments and standards as stated in the EMPR, the Water Act (and Section 21 Permit). All uncertainties to be reported to the Environmental Coordinator and Senior Engineer Water Resources.
    • Water Use License Compliance Monitoring.
    • Flow metering and instrumentation audit of locations, telemetry, power etc. to ensure continuous improvement for instrumentation team. Ensure all flow meters and densitometers are calibrated and records are captured for defensible auditing purposes.
    • Ensure audit findings and non-compliances are captured in SAP system in light of maintenance improvements, infrastructure repairs or equipment developments and modifications.
    • Preparation of reports and graphs as required.
    • Draft scope of work for consultants. 
    • Assist with tender and supply chain procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • management ( including machinery, mobile equipment, and infrastructure).
    • Develop strategy implementation details (tactics and work packages) for work management.
    • Define discipline inputs (work package details) to the Operating Master Schedule (OMS).
    • Provide service strategy inputs to Operational Risk Management and Hazardous Materials handling (Hazchem) plan.
    • Lead the development and ongoing management of the site service strategy and 1-year budget.
    • Provide inputs and coordinate with the site finance department to ensure effective cost monitoring and reporting.

    • Ensure the effective implementation of the Supply Chain strategy within the Physical Supply Chain and materials planning environment

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience.

    Technical knowledge(experience) required for role:

    • Advanced level understanding of end-to-end warehouse processes, both from a physical and transactional point of view.

    Operational Risk Advisor

    Job Description:

    • Plan, implement and coordinate the implementation of ORM with specific focus on Baseline and Issue-based risk management activities.
    • Oversee the application of the ORM four layers of risk management at the operation
    • Baseline risk management

    • Co-ordinate the ORM implementation and execution against the integrated risk management framework operational risk management processes, systems, standards and procedures.
    • Implement the functioning of operational risk management IT Platform.
    • Co-ordinate planning and implementation of the annual Operational Risk Programme and support the managerial oversight of the delivery of operational risk targets and key results areas.
    • Enhance the skills and competencies of employees and contractors to achieve excellence in  operational risk management.
    • Support formal operational risk capacity building programs at operations.
    • Assess operational risk performance and provide status evaluation reports to operations management and operational risk role holders and support action planning where required.
    • Provide risk based operational input to operation to ensure management of material risks and  integration of operational risk management into leading operational practices and programs such as the Operating Model, incident investigation and assurance practices.
    • This role is in the ASR & SHEE department at a Band 6 level reporting to the SHE Manager.

    Qualifications:

    • Essential requirement: educated to a minimum of a national diploma level in a relevant discipline or equivalent (such as risk management, sciences, engineering or other related careers)
    • Advantageous: Operational Risk Management courses

    Experience:

    • Detailed understanding of the Platinum value chain and operational trends and risks.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant operational mining related experience
    • An understanding of the operational aspects associated with mining and mineral processing operations
    • Demonstrated understanding of risk management within a technical environment
    • Knowledge and experience with risk assessment techniques such as WRAC, Bow-tie Analysis, HAZOP and other industry recognised techniques and tools.
    • Track record of interfacing with and influencing colleagues and coordinating disciplines relevant to risk management.

    Technical Skills

    • Desirable: Ability to use operational risk management system for information management and data analysis (e.g.: Bowtie XP, Isometrix, AZURE)
    • Translate recommendations into tangible operational outcomes
    • Collaborative and excellent communication skills

    • As our Shift Supervisoryour responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Shift Reporting: Prepare comprehensive shift reports detailing activities, accomplishments, challenges, and any incidents or deviations from standard procedures.
    • Process Optimization: Collaborate with relevant teams to optimise block preparation and material feeding processes, improving efficiency and productivity.

    Sustainability and Social:

    • Execute the delivery of the sustainability activities relevant to the discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time.
    • Deliver Sustainable Mining Plan execution relevant to the discipline.
    • Comply with environmental and social requirements as relevant to the discipline.
    • Implement environmental and social risk mitigation techniques relevant to the discipline specified in the asset risk management approach.
    • Implement sustainable improvement initiatives relevant to the work area and progress report.

    People and Teams:

    • Lead by example and support a purpose-driven, high-performance culture based on company values, inclusion, and diversity principles.
    • Manage employee and contractor processes in the work area.
    • Foster team member development through coaching while maintaining the right skills mix within the team through developing and executing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for all team members.
    • This role is in Engineering (ENG) department on a band 7.8 level reporting to the General Engineering Supervisor

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Trade Test (Mechanical or relevant Engineering discipline)
    • N4 Qualification (Engineering field)
    • SA Drivers Licence

    Technical Knowledge

    • Knowledge of engineering and maintenance processes in the mining industry and within the scope of the role.
    • Relevant operational drawing/design experience (mining industry preferred).
    • Budget management and cost control.
    • Documentation, sign-off and approval processes.
    • Risk management techniques and critical controls.
