    Data Engineer III

    About the Role

    • As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining analytical solutions. You will do so using Amazon Redshift and Tableau. You will apply your solid understanding of data modeling, SQL querying, data analysis and data presentation techniques.

    Responsibilities

    • Designing and developing scalable data models and analytical solutions using Amazon Redshift, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
    • Developing and optimizing complex SQL queries and analytical procedures to extract insights from large datasets stored in Redshift.
    • Designing and developing Tableau dashboards to surface and present data analytics to the organisation.
    • Implementing data quality checks, data transformations, and data cleansing processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of analytical data.
    • Developing and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data warehouse.
    • Optimizing Redshift database performance by implementing partitioning strategies, indexing, query tuning, and workload management.
    • Implementing data security and access controls within Redshift to ensure data privacy and compliance.
    • Participating in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain best practices.

    Requirements

    • Have a BSC degree in computer science or equivalent.
    • Have experience with Amazon Redshift and Microsoft BI systems, including data modelling, SQL querying, and performance tuning. Experience in PowerBI and Tableau.
    • Be proficient in SQL and experience with analytical tools and techniques (e.g., data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning).
    • Expertise in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, .NET, Unix, HPCC.
    • Have knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and data integration best practices.
    • Be able to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
    • Have knowledge of test-driven development.
    • Be able to troubleshoot and resolve process inefficiencies (i.e. bugs) in the repository.

    Senior Software Engineer I

    • The Senior DevOps Engineer will perform software design typically across multiple components, mentor junior team members, and work with others to translate user/customer requests into solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Handle new modules relying on Azure, including ultron, digital safe, and feature environments.
    • Manage infrastructure concepts in Azure, including network setup by security teams and required security constraints (application gateway, firewall, etc.).
    • Utilize Azure DevOps, especially with pipelines, and migrate ADO classic UI releases into YAML format.
    • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell.
    • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and YAML.
    • Work with Microsoft Windows environments and middleware, including IIS and SQL Server.

    • This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products.
