    CIS Specialist

    Purpose of role:

    • To provide excellent levels of service to new and existing Prescient Manco Asset Managers and Foreign Managers in all dealings with the CIS department of the FSCA with regards applications for both local and foreign funds. 

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • New Fund Applications: Managing the application process with the FSCA, including:
    • Assisting asset managers with the drafting of the application documentation.
    • Reviewing and commenting on asset manager applications.
    • Liaising with the FSCA through the application process.
    • Ensuring successful handover to the client take on/ implementation team once funds are approved.
    • Ballot process: Managing the application process with the FSCA where ballots are required: (Amalgamations and Investment Policy changes)
    • Ensuring that the ballot application is well documented and communicated to all stakeholders before process is started.
    • Liaising with the FSCA through the stakeholder process.
    • Ensuring Auditor involvement.
    • Running the ballot process.
    • Fund Closure Applications: Managing the application process with the FSCA including:
    • Liaising with the asset team to ensure funds are up to date with regards expenses and income accruals to ensure NAVs are as close to final as possible.
    • Managing the process through the FSCA.
    • Notifying investors in the event of a windup.
    • Ensuring Auditor involvement with the windup process.
    • Once approved communicating winding up to both the TA and Asset Admin sides of PFS.
    • S65 Applications: Managing the application process with the FSCA including:
    • Advising foreign managers of any expected issues in their application.
    • Reviewing application documents provided by the Foreign Manager.
    • Managing the process through the FSCA.
    • Good working relationship with all service providers involved in the FSCA application process including Asset Manages, Trustees, Auditors and LISPs.
    • Ensuring all documentation involved in the application processes is file correctly.
    • Assisting regulatory compliance with various compliance support functions where required.

    Required experience:

    • 3-5 years of working experience in a related role in Financial Services.
    • Good working knowledge of Collective Investments Schemes, especially as it relates to the application process (CISCA, BN90 & BN52).

    Required Qualifications:

    • BCom / Financial / Commercial Qualification (BCom Finance / Investments / Compliance) required.
    • A relevant Compliance studies would be advantageous.

    Assistant Financial Accountant

    Purpose of role:

    • The Assistant Financial Accountant plays a vital role in supporting Senior Financial Accountants and Head of Finance with monthly and annual financial reporting.
    • The Assistant Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and error-free accounts in collaboration with a Senior Financial Accountant and in line with monthly deadlines.
    • A key focus will be to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort through automation. 
    • The role further involves adding value to front office teams, leadership, clients, and shareholders, upholding a high standard of excellence and service throughout.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    The Assistant Financial Accountant provides efficient and effective support to Prescient’s accounting operations and procurement functions. This role encompasses a wide range of financial responsibilities which may include but is not limited to:

    • Monthly bank statement processing and reconciliations (including credit cards).
    • Monthly client fee calculations and invoicing in terms of signed mandates and/or SLAs.
    • Cash flow management and forecasting.
    • Preparing monthly accounting journals and supporting schedules.
    • Performing account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
    • Supporting procurement processes and banking operations in line with Group control frameworks.
    • Managing debtors and creditors to uphold financial discipline.
    • Monthly reconciliation and settlement of intercompany balances.
    • Calculating monthly Capital Adequacy Requirements.
    • Assisting with tax compliance and reporting.
    • Assisting with regulatory compliance and reporting.
    • Adhering to monthly, quarterly and annual Group and Company specific reporting requirements.
    • Cooperate with any internal audit requests and implement suggested changes where applicable.
    • Liaising with external auditors as required to ensure a smooth and effective annual audit process.
    • Contributing as a valued member of the Prescient Finance team.
    • Cross-training and knowledge sharing across the greater finance team.
    • Building and maintaining a trusted partnerships with the operating entity’s broader teams.
    • Driving continuous improvement in controls and processes to reduce risk, enhance efficiency, and identify opportunities.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
    • The role requires attention to detail, sound financial judgment, and a strong commitment to collaboration and operational excellence.

    Required experience:

    • Newly qualified CA(SA). Ideally, with client at audit in financial services.
    • Exposure to Financial Services preferable (Fund Services, Unit Trusts, Investment Management, Stock Broking).
    • Strong Excel and SQL skills.

    Credit Analyst: Deals / Investment Associate

    Purpose of role:

    • We are seeking a Credit Analyst with strong transaction origination and execution experience to join our investment team. This is a front-office, deal-driven role where you will work closely with investment professionals on structuring, negotiating, and closing credit and hybrid transactions, while still applying rigorous credit analysis.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Drive end-to-end execution of transactions, including structuring, negotiations, term sheet preparation, and documentation.
    • Support origination by identifying and assessing new deal opportunities in private debt, hybrid finance, and project finance.
    • Build and refine complex financial models to analyse returns, capital structures, and downside scenarios.
    • Lead aspects of due diligence across financial, legal, and operational streams, liaising with advisors and counterparties.
    • Prepare high-quality investment committee reports and present recommendations on transaction structures and risks.
    • Engage directly with sponsors, management teams, lenders, and legal counsel to progress deals to closing.
    • Support portfolio companies and borrowers’ post-investment, ensuring ongoing compliance and performance monitoring.
    • Contribute to pipeline development and market coverage, maintaining strong industry and counterparty relationships.

    Required experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (Honours/Master’s preferred).
    • 3–6 years’ experience in deal execution within investment banking, private debt, structured finance, corporate lending, or advisory.
    • Demonstrated ability to close transactions, including structuring and legal negotiations.
    • Advanced financial modelling and structuring expertise.
    • Commercially minded with a strong grasp of credit fundamentals and risk assessment.
    • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with confidence in engaging senior stakeholders and counterparties.
    • Ability to thrive in a deal-oriented, fast-paced environment.
