    Chief Project Manager

    Job Description: 

    • To deliver sound project management, engineering, and technical services and advice across complex, high-risk, large-scale, multi-disciplinary acquisition projects, ensuring capability alignment, technical assurance, and lifecycle value.

    Duties Responsibilities:

    Qualifications: 

    • Grade 12.
    • BTech/ B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
    • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or Project / Engineering Management. TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION / PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION
    • ECSA Registration (Essential).

    Experience: 

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering project management, acquisition, or related technical disciplines, including at least 3 years in a senior engineering or equivalent role, with demonstrated success in leading complex engineering projects.
    • Proven leadership in contract management and negotiation across the full acquisition lifecycle, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with programme objectives.

    Job Description: 

    • To provide and supply an efficient and effective marine pipe fitting and boiler making repair service capability to the fleet of the South African Navy, its various shore establishments and visiting ships.

    Duties Responsibilities:

    Qualifications: 

    • N3 and trade Certificate in appropriate trade endorsed by the Department of Labour or applicable Seta (Red Seal).

    Experience: 

    • Minimum of 2 years relevant post apprenticeship pipe fitting or boiler making experience.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Sound knowledge of safety requirements related to pipe fitting and boiler making.
    • Sound knowledge of quality control requirements related to pipe fitting and boiler making.

    SPECIAL PROFICIENCY/SKILLS

    • Expert in applying engineering policies, standards, and governance frameworks to drive compliance, project efficiency, and technical excellence.
    • In-depth understanding of capital project environments, Smart Buyer principles, and public procurement frameworks, with experience providing strategic guidance or training in these areas.
    • Prior collaboration with SANDF, Armscor, or equivalent stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex organizational and defence environments.
    • Strong capability in supporting technical assessments, identifying and mitigating risks, and verifying critical project deliverables.
    • Knowledge and practical application of international systems engineering and quality standards (e.g., ISO 15288, INCOSE SE Handbook) to enhance engineering rigor and assurance.
