    Specialist: Production Engineer

    Key accountabilities of the function

    • Constantly achieve daily, weekly and monthly production target considering TPU and budget also
    • Ensure quality targets in Body Shop achieved.
    • Ensure problems are contained and not transferred to internal or external customers.
    • Ensure own department headcount and budget achieved.
    • Plan and execute succession planning and personnel development.
    • Drive continuous improvement in technical availability and UPH performance.
    • Ensure timeous execution of TPM and preventative maintenance to ensure high levels of technical availability.
    • Ensure robust technical problem solving.
    • Ensure safe working environment and adherence of his section to all safe working requirements and procedures.
    • Ensure continuous process improvement to optimize resource usage, improve plant condition and improve ergonomics.
    • Ensure high level of motivation amongst direct reports and associate in general.
    • Enable teams and associates to achieve the agreed targets.
    • Ensure cascading of information required to achieve targets.
    • Ensure proper work organization installed and maintained.
    • Adherence to all applicable standards and procedures.
    • Work in accordance with Collaboration management System principles.
    • Ensure quality targets are achieved both internally and externally including DPR, RMU, QZS, QZF, Geometry of BIW and HOP controlled and stable.
    • Ensure maintenance schedules are up to date and both TPM and preventative maintenance performed as per plan.
    • Achieve daily production volume plan and develop production system to consistently achieve 15.5 UPH.
    • Must achieve agreed budget and headcount target – must show a 5% year on year improvement. Non personnel cost such as consumables and scrap to be controlled within tight parameters and within budget. Overtime to be minimized and strictly managed.
    • Ensure TPU target for directs are achieved and constantly improved.

    Educational

    Education

    • Mech/Elec Eng. Degree
    • Equivalent Higher National Diploma
    • Extensive experience in a Body Shop environment
    • Experience in Management

    Work experience, Leadership experience

    • 5 Year in an Automotive Production Plant
    • At least 5 years leadership level such as Process leader

    Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills

    Additional skills: special skills / technical ability etc.

    • German proficiency would be an advantage
    • Ability to manage technically challenging situations without becoming emotional
    • Able to simplify complex topics and translate to lower organisational levels

    Delivery Manager: SAP Services, Int

    Key accountabilities of the function

    General:

    • Responsible for the IT-products, IT-services and their quality, including security, compliance, budget/ investment in accordance with regulatory conditions concerning the customers and process partners.
    • Responsible to source and manage the SAP Services, Integration pipeline.
    • Global Delivery on IT products and DevOps within the ZA HUB context.
    • Manage Sub Products and Feature Teams who specifies, designs, develops, tests, and operates the IT-products and IT-services and assures their quality.
    • Continually adjusts and improves the IT-products and IT-services.
    • Ensures the availability of the IT-products and IT-services.
    • Influence business planning and assist business in international locations to align to central business strategies.
    • Manage and lead a team of specialists to deliver State-of-the-Art DevOps / Products.
    • Responsible for Standardization and Re-usability of the developed systems / software. (BMW Group Template Design & Development).
    • Sourcing and pro-active management of DevOps resources - resource planning to deliver on agreed products & projects.
    • Responsible for all aspects of Agile DevOps to ensure that product development is completed efficiently and with a high level of quality in time & budget.
    • Maintenance of Governance models for Agile DevOps for the ZA HUB together with Group IT.
    • Specifies, designs, develops, tests, and operates the IT-products and IT-services and assures their quality.
    • Continually adjusts and improves the IT-products and IT-services.
    • Ensures the availability of the IT-products and IT-services.
    • Implements the IT-Governance requirements (e.g. IT-Security, IT-Compliance, IT-Risk and IT-Architecture).
    • Delivers all necessary support and assistance to the international process partners in alignment with the customer orientation approach.
    • Accountable for 24x7 DevOps according to the agreed customer requirements.
    • Operate in an international environment spanning over the different time zones – must be available to attend to escalations / customers outside of normal ZA operating hours.
    • Sourcing international product pipeline and resources in the above-mentioned context.
    • Design & Delivery of Global SAP and Integration Platform products and “building blocks“ to enable fast and flexible solutions and standard platforms (technical standardization).
    • Problem management resolution (implement).
    • Ensure reliable sourcing and management of Agile DevOps services / resources.
    • SAP/Java Source code management.
    • Manage departmental finances including forecasting and monitoring.

    Personnel /Resource Management:

    • Mentor and coaching of team members to ensure that the Sub Product and Feature Teams remain relevant in terms of skills required to support the product.
    • Allocate and balance resources to support company and customer requirements.
    • Forecast personnel / contractor resources required to achieve both short- and long-term objectives.
    • Ensure the approval of additional or the availability of existing resources for additional prioritized requirements.

    Compliance & Governance:

    • Ensure IT-Relevant Compliance requirements in the local and international legislative framework for own department, product area and projects.  Ensure compliance with governance and adherence to all Agile Working Models as prescribed by the BMW Group.

    Leadership Tasks:

    • Managing the resources and skills within the section in line with BMW Guidelines and Procedures.
    • Disciplinarily lead associates in own department in line with agreed goals and targets.
    • Delegating tasks to subordinate specialists and managing their delivery accordingly.
    • Motivate associates to achieve above average performance.
    • Act in fair and unbiased manner to obtain loyalty to the company and the department based on the 5 BMW core values.
    • Take corrective action in line with company policy where necessary.  This can include disciplinary action.
    • Conduct regular performance appraisals with sub-ordinates.

    Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills

    • B Comm. / BSc degree in Business, Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
    • 15+ years working Experience in Manufacturing, Automotive, Science, IT or related industries.
    • 10+ years of experience in Management with exposure to Manufacturing, IT, Sales and Marketing and Financial Management or Commercial functions.
    • 10+ years of experience in international projects or working on international assignments.
    • 10+ years SAP project experience.
    • Ability to deliver high standard IT products within the group standards to meet business objectives.
    • Business process and analytical design competence (System Proposal).
    • Ability to source high quality IT resources to deliver products.
    • Monitoring performance and progress pro-actively of DevOps activities of a product.
    • Collection, Periodisation and packaging of product requirements.
    • Ability to operate in an intercultural environment (International development centre).
    • Competent in IT DevOps and roll out process as well as the measurement thereof.
    • Influence business planning and assist business in international locations to align to central business and IT strategies.
    • Obtain Platform / Product decisions in co-operation with central Group IT functions.
    • Provide cost calculations of DevOps / Agile management efforts within Products & projects.
    • Management of Source code development & Configuration.
    • Process modelling, SW-Configuration, Development Infrastructures.
    • Provide DevOps Services and products / features for Procurement Analytics.
    • Partner with multi-departmental stakeholders to define opportunities, define and prioritize the product / project portfolio within cost, time and resource constraints including execution thereof.
    • Ability to manage departmental finances including forecasting and monitoring.
