    Trait Integration Specialist

    About Role:

    • We’re hiring a Trait Integration Specialist.

    Your Challenge:

    Nursery Operations

    • Plan and execute nursery operations using proprietary software.
    • Conduct phenotypic and genotypic selections in field and greenhouse nurseries.
    • Oversee planting, transplanting, leaf sampling, and harvesting activities.
    • Scout greenhouses regularly to ensure optimal plant health and development.
    • Oversee irrigation, fertilization, weed, pest, and disease control.
    • Ensure accurate and consistent data collection and database uploads.
    • Implement genotyping protocols to support marker-assisted selection.
    • Overall management of media preparation, embryo rescue, and growth chambers
    • Maintain inventory of chemicals and supplies for lab efficiency.
    • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring timely service.
    • Lead seed processing activities including preparation, sorting, shelling, and inventory management.
    • Travel to other nursery sites across RSA regions as needed.
    • Work overtime, weekends, and public holidays during peak periods.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration

    • Lead and supervise assistants and temporary employees.
    • Provide training, guidance, and daily support to TI partners and nursery staff.
    • Collaborate with global teams to implement process improvements and innovations.
    • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and multidisciplinary team environment.

    Quality, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure full implementation of quality management protocols.
    • Enforce safety operating procedures for all routine tasks.
    • Work with Genetically Modified Organisms in compliance with regulations and policies.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

    Location:

    • To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
    • Related Degree - BSc Honors or MSc in plant Breeding, Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Biology, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of agricultural experience; experience in maize trait introgression, genotyping, and tissue sampling is advantageous.
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel during planting/harvesting campaigns.
    • Fluent in English with strong communication skills across diverse cultural backgrounds.
    • Must have the ability to meet deadlines, show attention to detail, succeed in a team environment, and use a computer and other data collection devices
    • Strong ownership and accountability for high-quality results.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership, time management, and operational safety skills.
    • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

    Field Agronomist

    Job Role

    • We’re hiring for Field Agronomist – Eastern Highveld & Limpopo
    • The Field Agronomist must love to work with growers on the farm and in their fields alongside a network of Pannar Sales Rep that have a common passion for agriculture, adding value and improving customer experience. Individuals must like working independently and in a team, being able to contribute to a high-performing and dynamic sales team. Key personal qualities include confidence, competitiveness, a desire to win, driven to succeed, strong communication skills, and being a team player. Critical decision-making skills are also necessary for this position and a desire to constantly learn and improve to strive towards excellence. A strong work ethic, moral standards with a high level of professionalism, and pride in the quality of work performed will lead to success for this individual. The Field Agronomist would work alongside a Territory Manager as a team to achieve common territory targets.
    • You Will Be Part of the Growing Team
    • The candidate will act as a liaison with local Pannar Sales Reps and Territory Manger to grow market share and strengthen relationships with key operations. Focused areas are Pannar product training, positioning, general agronomy, team-selling, and providing grower solutions to add value and increase yield and profitability to help key operations be sustainable.

    Your Challenge:

    • Target field activities to key accounts to build relationships and drive sales of Pannar brand products.
    • Work with targeted operations to grow the business strategically.
    • Develop and provide agronomic and product training and training to the field sales force that supports the sales and service of Pannar products.
    • Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Pannar products and services.
    • Model the way in demonstrating integrity, determination, adaptability, passion, and collaboration.
    • Collaborate with the Product Life Cycle Manager and Agronomy Manager to plan and conduct Commercial Unit, and regional agronomy field trials that improve the product management and/or product positioning of Pannar seed products
    • Serve as a primary agronomic resource to Territory Managers to resolve customer concerns.
    • Anticipate market opportunities and threats, and position your sales team to react, adapt and overcome.
    • Troubleshoot customer concerns and work to identify and deliver mutually beneficial solutions.
    • Key Stakeholders and Interactions:
    • Partner with Product Agronomists, Territory Managers, Field Agronomists and Sales Reps to create and deliver product and digital services information that improves the productivity and profitability of Pannar customers.

    Location:

    • Eastern Highveld & Limpopo

    To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Soil science, Agronomy, Plant Pathology)
    • At least 5-7 years of agronomy sales experience, educating and empowering individuals.

    Leadership skills

    • Strong background in agronomy and plant cultivation.
    • Extensive knowledge on pesticides and herbicides would be beneficial.
    • Extensive knowledge on crops like maize, sunflower and soybeans is needed.
    • Proven ability to make timely decisions and solve problems
    • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people
    • Ability to supervise and prioritize multiple tasks is critical
    • Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation tools
    • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • A valid driver’s license is required
