    QA Supervisor - Estcourt

    Qualifications 

    • Diploma/Degree in Food Technology or Biotechnology

    Experience

    • 3-5 year's  in the meat industry

    Key Performance Areas

    Leadership

    • Report directly to Quality Manager on site.
    • Supervise Quality Controllers to ensure consistent and accurate quality checks.
    • Create and manage work schedules for the Quality department.
    • Support New Product Development.
    • Ensure Quality controllers have the necessary tools to perform their work function

    Verifications and Calibrations

    • Review weekly compliance to swabbing plans and product submission.
    • Oversee that inspections, on products and processes are conducted to verify compliance with specifications, standards, and procedures
    • Monitor and enforce GMP standards across the entire facility.
    • Conduct routine spot checks on cleaning efficacy.
    • Ensure that equipment used in the facility for QC and Food safety are verified and calibrated as per schedule.

    Documentation

    • Verify that records are completed correctly and give guidance and training where necessary
    • Assist with compilation of Export documents
    • In conjunction with NPD, assist in ensuring raw material specification, packaging specification and final product specifications are available for the facility. Request from suppliers when required.
    • Ensure records are readily available when required.
    • Coordinate the administration of the Food Safety and Quality System.
    • Maintain accurate QA records for audit and certification purposes.

    Non Con-formances and Customer Feedback

    • Completing the NCR documents as triggered by customer complains /GMP/PRP/ Audit findings.
    • Follow up on Corrective and preventative actions.
    • Close NCRs.
    • Manage product restriction (on hold) program, including the status release and destruction of reject products.
    • Work closely with production, NPD, QC and other teams to resolve quality concerns.
    • Provide training and guidance to staff on quality requirements and best practices.
    • Communicate the customer complaints to relevant production manager for investigation. Assist responsible person/ incident owner with investigation to identify root cause.
    • Assist with completion of customer complain feedback and send to the Customer liaison.

    Audits

    • Second in charge of handling third party audits in the absent of Quality Manager.
    • Participate in all regulatory and customer requirements audits and inspections, and corrective actions response.

    Reporting

    • Involved in the analysis of quality and food safety -related data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare detailed weekly QA reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
    • Prepare trends for Customer complaints, NCR’s (micro, PRP, CCP), Audit trends (results, re-occurring findings, findings)
    • Report any change that may affect food safety and quality which may trigger a system, policy, procedure or record review.

    Quantum Lean

    • Drive that 5S is implemented and maintained. 
    • Drive the team to use quantum lean tools in scope of their work.
    • Coordinate the team in preparation for benchmark.
    • Ensure visual boards are kept updated by the team.
    • Assist QA manager in driving for positive morale within QA team.

    Health and Safety Officer - Heidelberg

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
    • Fire Prevention and Fighting Courses.
    • Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, SAMTRAC) preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG environment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards across the plant.
    • Conduct routine inspections, audits, SHE meetings and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
    • Lead incident/accident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analyses and preventive recommendations.
    • Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors.
    • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and support certification programs (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.).
    • Maintain safety documentation, including permits, inspection records, and training files.
    • Support emergency preparedness programs, including drills and emergency response coordination.
    • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the site’s safety culture.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders as necessary.
    • Ensure proper waste management and environmental protection practices.
