    Production Manager

    Purpose

    • To ensure production targets are safely achieved.
    • To ensure effective implementation and maintenance of a compliant, safe and productive working environment whilst working within budget constraints and legislation.

     

    Major challenges

    • Ensuring effective teamwork within production environment.
    • Managing production and maintaining safety outputs within a strict legislative and highly regulated environment.
    • To ensure and maintain competency of subordinates.

     

    Qualifications

    BEng Mining Engineering (Essential/Minimum)

    Certificate Blasting For Fiery Mines (Essential/Minimum)

     Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

    Mine Managers Certificate of Competence (Recommended/Desirable)

     

    Experience:

    • 8 years Relevant experience in mining environment, operations or related with 2 years recommended related experience in Project Management (specifically planning and coordination)
    • Importance : Essential/Minimum
    • Involvement : Operational

    • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
    • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
    • MHS Act Regulation 2.6.1 (Essential/Minimum)

    • Execute the Business Unit (BU) business plan towards the overall success of the Company
    • Optimal utilization of mining and mineral resources

     

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance

    • Conduct timeous investigations of incidents and ensure adequate remedial action implemented
    • Execute and drive safety programs
    • Ensure effective risk management by continuously identifying hazardous activities and mitigation measures

     

    Customer and Client Relationship Management

    • Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships towards enhancing corporate profile
    • Manage internal/external relations, including interface with external providers/other functions to ensure that business needs are met and employees are satisfied
    • Provide relevant support and legislative service to applicable stakeholders

     

    Effective People Management

    • Ensure optimized team work through motivation/empowerment and leading through sound transformational leadership
    • Promote teamwork/provide support and manage performance by creating/maintaining individual development plans for subordinates
    • Enforce discipline within relevant area of responsibility
    • Ensure all employees are effectively trained and competent to perform required duties in a disciplined manner

     

    Financial Management

    • Execute operations within sections annual budget
    • Approve relevant contracts and documentation in line with departmental budgetary stipulations
    • Ensure optimization in cost and production areas

     

    Functional Excellence

    • Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end to end processes, tools, templates etc.
    • Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
    • Apply functional best practices, promote sharing of best practices/knowledge

     

    Process Optimisation

    • To reach set production targets
    • Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
    • Ensure optimal use of available resources, people and equipment

     

    Project Management

    • Evaluate and complete projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and according to specified budgetary requirements
    • Create and sustain a high-performance culture by implementing high performance culture strategy

     

    Safe and Healthy Work Environment

    • Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards

    Manager, Mining Development

    Purpose

    • Responsible for optimising business value of the business unit's business plans across the mining discipline with special focus on technical improvements, operational excellence and mineral resource management.

    • Resource loading and workload capacities
    • Reconciliation between reporting lines to planning optimisation function and mining development expectations.
    • Capital constraints.

    • Ensure discipline related assurance reviews are conducted of process and engineering solutions
    • Implement a methodology to ensure statutory and governance compliance
    • Perform risk assurance process on Business Unit (BU) level business plans
