    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Leadership and Respect:

    Board Representation and Reporting:

    • Involved in reporting financial matters to the board and shareholders by Year two.
    • Ensure prompt availability of month-end financials.

     Accounts:

    • Transition to Xero as a financial package in 2024.
    • Evolve month-end reporting and collaborate with OMNE for professional assistance.

    World Food Safety Regulations:

    • Gain understanding of global food processing standards.
    • Focus on critical control points and chemical residue controls.

    Factory Processes:

    • Understand process flow and labor requirements.
    • Visit factories as necessary.

     Marketing:

    • Develop an understanding of the market, main customers, and their requirements.

     Modeling:

    • Review and refine cash flow models, profit-sharing models, and grower viability models.

    Agriculture:

    • Support and maintain relationships with growers based on trust and integrity.
    • Contribute to farmers’ day presentations.

     Finance and Cash Flow:

    • Ensure adequate facilities are in place for crop processing based on cash flow.

     Currency Trading:

    • Track exchange rates continuously and recommend forward cover policies.

     CAPEX Projects:

    • Collaborate with other GMs and Factory Managers to draw up budgets for all CAPEX projects.

     R&D:

    • Understand current R&D efforts and contribute to joint efforts with marketing.

     Backup:

    • Potentially grow the management team based on business growth.
    • Mentor a factory manager during the off-season.
    • Ability to Constantly Look into the Future:
    • Plan the future of the business, considering crop sizes, agricultural planning cycles, and new technologies.

    Maintenance Technician - FM1740

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Mechanical / Electrical qualification advantage.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
    • Relevant experience and knowledge of maintenance procedures and systems to be maintained (electrical and mechanical)
    • Previous relevant experience in Citrus/Agriculture will be an advantage.

    COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Ability to follow a maintenance schedule.
    • Physical and manual dexterity and agility
    • Ability to troubleshoot.
    • Ability to work under pressure, overtime and meet deadlines.

    Maintenance

    • Equipment is kept in good and operational condition.

    • Supervise, coordinate and plan maintenance activities.
    • Draft maintenance work schedules on equipment and machinery and ensure that work schedules are correctly executed.
    • Daily electrical maintenance on DC/AC systems.
    • Good knowledge on switch gear and fault findings.
    • Ensure safety protocols are followed.
    • Ensure that work performed is from highest work standards.
    • New Installations completed within time and budget according to specifications

    Finance and Admin

    • Costs maintained within parameters and budget.
    • Organise and coordinate the relevant material and human resources.

    Food Safety and Health & Safety 

    • Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations.
    • Ensure safe working area with minimum incidents / injuries.

    People Management

    • Manage high performance teams that collaborate in pursuit of excellence and a common purpose. Manage staff performance, discipline, and training.
    • Cultivate a business culture and value system based on trust to ensure that we build long term relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Participate in establishing work schedules and ensuring that these schedules are correctly executed with highest work standards.

    • Background in the citrus packing industry with a minimum 5 years’ packing line experience.
    • Good understanding of local and export quality standards.
    • Experience in operating electronic sizer – Maf Roda is advantageous.
    • Communication skills in English and Afrikaans is required – Xhosa will be advantageous.
    • Willing to work irregular and long hours unique to the citrus packing industry.
    • Must be fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • KEY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
    • Responsible for budget and cost management.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous
