    SPH Credit Controller 6 Months FTC

    Main Focus Areas

    • The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of customer collection targets, essential to the profitability of the Hospital. They would also be responsible for effectively managing overdue accounts.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Collaborate professional with strong communication skill
    • Facilitate positive cash flow and ensure strict and timeous follow up on outstanding claims
    • Ensure that credit terms are adhered to at all times, with specific reference to private admissions
    • Minimise the erosion of profits attributed to slow paying accounts and bad debts
    • Maintain consistent systems and procedure for the management of accounts receivable
    • To make sure that medical aid and patient accounts are paid within the SLA time frame.
    • To ensure that targets and deadlines are met
    • Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks
    • Prepare Journal entries related to credit control

    Billings Audit Clerk Billings

    Main Focus Areas

The Billings Audit Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the collation of received patient files from Billings and ensure accurate billing and patient information is captured correctly.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Check that the confirmation and the statements have the same account nr and patient details
    • Check the discharge date and times are correct
    • Check the surgical forms against the statement to make sure all stock used are billed and that the quantities are correct
    • Send the file back to the Unit Managers if there are medicine/credit mistakes made
    • Send file to pharmacy if credits are not done or any other medicine queries need to be done
    • Answering telephones and dealing with telephonic queries
    • Check case manager files for payments

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
    • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative role or auditing.

    Registered Nurse Midwife Maternity

    Main Focus Areas

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for direct or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

    AKPH Quality Control Case Manager

    Main Focus Areas

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids in order to secure payment for the hospital.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    Physiotherapist Acute Rehab

    Main Focus Areas

    • A vacancy exists for a Physiotherapist within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at eThekwini Hospital & Heart Centre. This successful candidate will report to Therapy Manager/Clinical Specialist. The Physiotherapist will provide holistic physiotherapy to in-patients requiring physiotherapy in the rehabilitation unit. The physiotherapists will provide an assessment of the patient’s level of independence in mobility and need for an assistive device required for mobility on admission in the rehabilitation unit. 

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities, limitations, pain levels, range of motion, and mobility for patients with neurological disorders such as TBI, CVA, SCI, orthopedic conditions or multi-morbidity conditions such as Guillain-Barré syndrome etc. in collaboration with other therapy disciplines.
    • Assess all patient’s mobility risks upon admission and develop an individualized treatment plans based on these evaluations, considering the patient's medical history and specific rehab goals.
    • Design and supervise therapeutic exercises aimed at improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
    • Provide chest physiotherapy as requested for by the rehabilitation medical officer. Will be required to work some weekends and public holidays.
    • Educate patients and their families about the patient’s condition and on proper techniques and posture to prevent further injury.
    • Contribute to weekly team and family meetings.
    • Keep accurate and timeous records and reports.
    • Effectively respond to customer complaints and queries.
    • Function effectively as a part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the requirements of quality patient care.
    • Participate in discharge planning and career training to ensure that the patient is given a home exercise plan and understand how to manage their condition after leaving the rehab unit.
    • Attend and contribute towards Continuous Professional Development activities of the unit.
    • Supervision and training of university students, when required.
    • Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with referral sources and stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation.
