    Registered Nurse Midwife Maternity

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Group is committed to creating places of healing for their communities, focused on attracting the best expertise and dedicated to building a steadfast, devoted team. The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Maintain professional conduct and standards at all times in accordance with the SANC / Job Standards / Hospital Policies in a Surgical Ward environment
    • Effective Risk prevention management
    • Promote and maintain good working and inter-personal relationships with Management / patients / staff / visitors / doctors and colleagues
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement
    • Practice the principles of infection prevention and all Standard precautions
    • Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors
    • Provide and supervise the delivery of evidence based nursing care
    • Ensure that all patients have an appropriate nursing care plan
    • Communicate with Health Care Practitioners regarding any change in health status
    • Mentoring and supervision of junior healthcare providers and support staff

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife
    • Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area
    • Advanced Computer Literacy
    • Relevant experience in antenatal / postnatal and Labour Ward necessary.
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
