MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Certificate of Competency as a Raisebore Operator
• Competency A will be an advantage
• A valid Trade Test Certificate will be an advantage
• Valid Driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Must have no criminal record
• Must be able to successfully pass all SAPS and Client screening processes
• Must be medically fit to work underground

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• 3 years underground experience as Raisebore Operator
• Operation, establishment, de-establishment and maintenance of Raisebore machines and equipment
• Operation of Robotic Shaft Liner will be an added advantage
• Must be able to work flexible hours and willing to relocate
• Must be willing to relocate on a temporary basis to other African countries
• Must be able to work at heights

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all Health and Safety issues around the workplace, equipment and people are identified and eliminated
• Ensure the machine and equipment is assembled, operated and dismantled according to the Procedures, Code of Practices and manufacturer’s specifications.
• Inspect the underground work area and ensure that it is safe.
• Check if eyebolts are secured
• Clean the footwall in accordance with Procedures and Code of Practices.
• Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working efficiently
• Monitoring and assessing performance to make improvements or take corrective action
• Routine maintenance of equipment
• Hydraulic hoses and electric cabling to be suspended separately
• Electric pack doors to be kept closed in order to prevent water from entering electric pack
• Report defects on equipment
• Monitoring and reporting malfunction of any device / gauge or equipment
• Store equipment in a safe place on completion of task or on completion of shift
• Be responsible and accountable for tools and equipment

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure overall compliance to Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure Production Targets are met
• Planning of stock, material and equipment availability
• Ensuring the machine and equipment is in a good and operational state
• Preventing unplanned breakdowns and ensuring regular maintenance
• Tool and equipment control
• Management of personnel and working hours
• Promoting good client relationships
• Ensure all Health and Safety issues around the workplace, equipment and people are identified and eliminated
• Ensure the machine is assembled according to the procedures and Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
• Inspect the underground work area and ensure that it is safe.
• Check if eyebolts are secured

• Alignment of Raisebore machine.
• Be able to work at heights
• Must be able to interpret schedules and be schedule driven

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as a qualified electrician
• At least 5 years winder and shaft experience
• First Aid and Competent B is an added advantage
• Driver’s literacy
• Medically fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Equipment installation, repairs, maintenance in the shaft
• Workshop procedures, installation and maintenance
• Legal requirements as per Mine Health and Safety act
• Winder maintenance, knowledge and legal requirements
• Maintenance of quality engineering standards
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report all incidents and accident, unsafe condition and unsafe acts
• Risk assessments must be conducted for each task
• Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use
• All legal inspections must be conducted according to the time intervals and a true report recorded in the record book
• Be responsible for sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule, Health and Safety in area of responsibility
• Ensure availability of spares and materials and enforce good house keeping

• Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency
• Onsetter/ Banksman Certificate of Competency
• Medical Fitness Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• At least 5 years’ experience in a Sinking/ Equipping shaft
• Legal requirements as per mine Health and Safety Act
• Hoist driving skills for single and double drum winders
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Operating the kibble winder
• Operating the Sinking stage winder
• Ensure that the winder logbook is completed as legislated
• Report immediately any unsafe condition

• To facilitate and ensure effective coordination of Stores Control process
• Ensure alignment to Company procedures and processes
• Compile weekly and monthly recon account of stock items
• Capturing of procurement information into the financial management system
