    Lab Analyst - Paper Lab (P12)

    As a Lab Analyst, you will be responsible for:

    • Analyse samples using analytical techniques
    • Operates complicated laboratory equipment
    • Evaluate the quality of results obtained prior to reporting and take relevant actions on deviations
    • Calibrates and verifies the accuracy of all relevant equipment before the commencement of the shift
    • Comply with all ISO methods for the test performed
    • Testing final product for sale purposes
    • Analyse and report special samples requested by the plant
    • Enter results into the computer using Laboratory Information System (LIS) software program
    • Check stock level for all solutions/consumables and report to the shift supervisor
    • Report problems with samples or results to the shift supervisor
    • Hand over analytical testing that is in progress to the next analyst
    • Accountable for the correct use of PPE, housekeeping, and general safety applicable to tests performed
    • Identification; communication and mitigation of risks

    What are we looking for? 

    • Matric with Maths and Physical Science/ N3 Pulp and Paper
    • Chemistry/ Lab related qualification will be advantageous
    • 1 year of Laboratory/Pulp and Paper industry experience will be an advantage

    Quality Controller

    As a Quality Controller – Stores you will be responsible for:

    • Ensure quality inspections of identified materials received and stored.  
    • Maintain proper physical storage conditions in the stores and the storage specifications on SAP Master Data.
    • Develop and ensure the quality control master and historical data on SAP is maintained at all times.
    • Maintain all reports accurately. 
    • Ensure rotable equipment numbers are created on SAP and equipment is properly marked.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers/suppliers with regards to stock specifications and requirements.
    • Inspect all identified Materials for defects and or deviations and take appropriate corrective actions to have the equipment replaced, maintained, or corrected.
    • Create and Maintain all preventative and corrective maintenance on sensitive spares stored within the stores to ensure the serviceability of the equipment using SAP and QCPs.
    • Identify all defective equipment, remove and or replace as require.
    • Create and implement Quality Controls for identified technical and engineering equipment to ensure the correctness of the equipment.
    • Identifying and managing day-to-day risks.
    • Accountable for ensuring adherence to all safety BP’s, procedures, BBS practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Achieve 5S status in area of responsibility.
    • Understand and comply with the SHEQ requirements of the job.
    • Ensure sound SHEQ principles are followed within all storage areas.

    What are we looking for? 

    • Qualified Artisan (Millwright, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation).
    • 5 Years as an artisan but a wide experience/knowledge spanning multiple engineering disciplines, Electrical/instrumentation/Mechanical preferred

    Millwright

     As a Millwright, you will be responsible for: 

    • Execute assigned scheduled and opportunity maintenance tasks
    • Improve Master data accuracy
    • Assist with the scoping of work
    • Report plant defects and downtime details to the Foreman
    • Knowledge sharing within and across teams, coaching of peers with regard to plant-specific aspects
    • Take out work permit according to Sappi policy
    • Perform a 60-second risk assessment as per Sappi policy and procedures
    • Correct selection and use of tools for each job
    • Perform tasks as per generally accepted engineering practices
    • Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing risks associated with a task to be performed
    • Move and transport equipment in the workplace
    • Comply with SAP business processes
    • Fit, assemble, grind, and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain production machines and other equipment. 
    • Install, test, connect, commission, and modify mechanical equipment.
    • Perform plant maintenance and remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders, and planned schedules, including during shuts. 
    • Cover breakdowns after hours and on weekends on a standby basis.
    • Report all defects and equipment risks to the direct supervisor.
    • Scope and plan work orders as required.
    • Draw spares from Stores using the picking list in SAP.
    • Perform any other assigned tasks that fall within the scope of a Millwright.
    • Required to work standby and overtime as required.
    • Share knowledge with other Artisans in the section and in other areas of the plant.
    • Install, test, connect, commission, maintain, and modify electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems as required. Examples include PLC, drives, and control equipment.
    • Perform electrical maintenance or remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders, and planned schedules, including during shuts.
    • Complete notifications and work orders on the SAP system.
    • Do fault finding on mechanical/ electrical systems during breakdown and effect the required repairs to keep downtime to a minimum.
    • Complete daily and weekly inspections on mechanical/ electrical systems and their components according to a detailed checklist.
    • Identify repairs required and recommend preventative maintenance to the foreman.
    • Perform tests on AC and DC motors to determine the condition of the motor windings, insulation, and core lamination.
    • Prepare status reports and activity logs as required.
    • Understand and comply with the safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the section.
    • Comply and perform tasks as per the organisation's policies, procedures, and best operating practices.
    • Participate in the investigation of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance. 
    • Correct any deviations that relate to maintenance.
    • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.

    What are we looking for?

    • Matric with Maths & Science or NQF Level 4 Qualification
    • Recognised Millwright Trade Certificate (Manpower or SETA accredited)
    • 2 years post apprentice experience
    • Must have mechanical/electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environment

    Maintenance Superintendent Electrical and Mechanical

    As a Maintenance Superintendent Electrical and Mechanical, you will be responsible for:

    • Assess equipment, materials, and labour needed to complete large and/or complex maintenance tasks to ensure maintenance activities meet district standards and resolve the defined issue(s) while reducing wasted resources.
    • Collaborate with others (e.g., contractors, vendors, etc.) to implement and maintain services and/or programs.
    • Coordinate services and activities of outside contractors as assigned to ensure contracted work is completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner that meets Mill’s standards and objectives.
    • Directly assigned maintenance staff to resolve maintenance issues to ensure Mill sections are maintained in a safe and effective working/learning environment.
    • Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records to provide up-to-date references and comply with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
    • Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle(s) to ensure availability as needed to meet assigned maintenance objectives.
    • Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities to ensure maintenance issues are resolved, and projects are completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner.
    • Prepare a variety of program-mandated documents and reports to document activities and comply with Mill and/or legal requirements.
    • Prioritise and assign system-related work orders to skilled maintenance staff to ensure that section is maintained in a safe working/learning environment and meeting guidelines within the approved budget.
    • Effective shut planning and assist with shut execution as required.
    • Improve Master data accuracy.
    • To work standby and overtime as required.

    What are we looking for? 

    • National Diploma Electrical/ Mechanical - NQF level  6
    • Recognised Trade Certificate (Manpower/Seta accredited)
    •  3 - 5 years’ plant operations experience
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
    • Valid driving license
    • Pulp and Paper industry experience advantageous
    • SAP knowledge advantageous

    Communications Lead: Social Media (South Africa)

    As a Communications Lead: Social Media, you will be responsible for:  

    • The contribution to the development of the communication strategy and action plans as well as ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
    • Provide guidance to and coordinate with the regional communication teams.
    • Help build the communication competence of the Group.
    • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on all social media communication-related aspects.
    • Develop and implement an internal social media advocacy programme with staff globally.

    What are we looking for? 

    • Formal qualification in Social Media Management, Communications or Digital Marketing with at least up to 5 years of experience in a corporate environment.
    • Excellent understanding of and experience in electronic/digital media and social media channels.
    • Excellent understanding of and experience in social media management tools (listening, engaging, scheduling and reporting) such as Hootsuite/Brandwatch/Sprout Social/Sprinklr 
    • Proficient in MS office, MS Teams and Sharepoint.
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro) would be advantageous.
    • Experience in a multinational and/or B2B environment as well as a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

    Stores Controller

    As a Stores Controller , you will be responsible for:

    • Control the daily receiving, issuing and binning processes of stock and DPR’s.
    • Receive, control, and document the store's rotatable repairs as per the process.
    • Control the daily activities of the personnel in stores.
    • Highlight and report on any abnormalities daily.
    • Record and verify the processing of all documents daily.
    • Ensure the filing of all documentation.
    • Control all deliveries/collections to and from the plant.
    • Ensure stock counts are done effectively.

    Sales Order Administrator

    This role will report to the Customer Services Supervisor:

    As a Sales Order Administrator, you will be responsible for:

    • Ensure that bookings, confirmations, amendments and cancellations of sales orders are actioned on SAP.
    • Maintain the order book regarding finalising balances and changing orders to different machine and warehouse locations.
    • Liaising with the manufacturing planning department for allocations.
    • Maintaining customer profiles using the Salesforce system.
    • Coordinate the distribution and delivery of customer orders using the Track and Trace system.
    • Review customer credit limit availability before finalising distribution.
    • Regularly communicate with customers regarding order status reports /stock availability and effectively deal with customer complaints in a professional manner.
    • Provide customers with a Certificate of Compliance (COC), invoices and proof of deliveries (POD’s) as and when required.

    What are we looking for:

    • A Commerce Degree in the relevant field.
    • A minimum of 3 years experience in customer services in a business to business environment.
    • Good working knowledge of the SAP modules for order capturing, claims, transportation and planning.
    • Customer oriented candidate who is willing to work on site during business hours.
