    Co-Curricular Manager

    Description

The Co-curricular manager (CCM) at Valenture Institute oversees all of the co-curricular activities that enhance the overall student educational experience in our portfolio of online High Schools. The Co-Curricular Manager is responsible for the sourcing, coordinating and setting up B2B partnerships within each of the pillars as outlined below. In the ecosystem of co-curricular activities some will offer a particular online high school whilst others may straddle different schools. At the end of the day, the CCM is responsible for creating student communities and opportunities outside of the online space, connecting students around the country and contributing to the holistic nature of our online offerings. The co-curricular pillars include but are not limited to the following:

    1. Virtual Clubs

Virtual Clubs are online after school clubs that are included in the school fees and are run/managed by the faculty of each online high school. The CCM is responsible for identifying which VCs are run during a particular term/semester and coordinating, and allocating, the various faculty members to supervise and run a VC. These VCs are specific to each online high school.

    2. Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities are activities offered onsite and after school by a variety of external service providers and or extracurricular B2B partnerships. The CCM will need to create a directory of extracurricular options including a wide range of activities (sporting, cultural, wellness, arts), linked to excellent (and verifiable) service providers in specific locations for all our online high school students to participate in. In addition, the CCM will need to coordinate the extracurricular activities for each of our boutique campuses. This will include determining the activities required for each campus, sourcing and vetting the appropriate service providers and then creating schedules for students each term/semester. This may also include assisting the Boutique Campus Managers with coordinated field trips where and when possible, ensuring appropriate adherence to necessary compliance protocols.

    3. Exchange Programmes

Exchange programmes offer students an opportunity to connect with other like minded students across the globe. There are a variety of exchange programmes that are offered to our online students in each of the online high schools. These Exchange Programmes can be in person or virtual by nature. The CCM will coordinate these programmes between each of our partners and interested students.

    4. Experiences/Adventures

Each of our online high schools will be offered a physical experience or adventure at least once a year. These experiences or adventures will take the form of a week long river rafting trip, or Otter Trail hiking expedition etc. These will be tailor made to each online high school to suit their particular student body. The CCM will source and coordinate these adventures with a reputable service provider.

    5. Community Service activities

An important part of the co-curricular ecosystem of activities is our commitment to create students who are thoughtful and positive contributors to their communities. Community service opportunities provide an important space for students to contribute and make a difference to their environment, encouraging them to “think local but act global”. The CCM will source and coordinate these service opportunities with a reputable service provider.

    6. Student Leadership Opportunities

We believe that every student has an innate leadership ability, and our role is to create opportunities for these abilities to be expressed and nurtured. The CCM will investigate leadership opportunities for all of our online students through various organisations including but not limited to the Duke of Edinburgh and President Awards. An opportunity exists in how we identify and recognise student leadership in the online space. This is something the CCM will need to drive across and within each of the online high school options.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Similarly, if you are not comfortable with other teams being accountable for different parts of the learning experience, you are unlikely to find this environment to be a good fit for you.

    • The Co-curricular manager is a master multitasker. The ideal candidate is one who can see opportunities to deliver a co-curricular programme in a new and exciting way. To think outside the box and to connect well with various external stakeholders to create an environment for online students to create communities outside of the online classroom is vital.

    • Providing a seamless co-curricular experience for students and parents often involves a lot of backend admin. The ideal candidate would have a pragmatic understanding of the value that administrative tasks bring to bear on the experience of an end user.
