    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/BEng) or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
    • Strong academic foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.

    Spec Gas Analyst

    • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of special gas mixtures and other gases to customer’s specification.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Analyse prepared special gas mixtures and other products according to specification, efficiently and punctually.
    • Ensure that calibration gasses are available and within specified stability period.
    • Maintain analytical equipment in a good operating order and report any faults by completing faulty equipment.
    • Assist Quality Control Laboratory with analysis of gasses as and when requested.
    • Perform method validation and uncertainty budget for methods in the laboratory
    • Ensure all conforming gas mixtures are certified timeously
    • Ensure that SANAS requirements are met as per ISO 17025:2005 and maintain accreditation
    • Adhere to Air Liquide SHEQ, IMS requirements (incl. FSSC (ISO 22000), ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.)
    • Ensure all laboratory documents and records are always up to date
    • Ensure analytical equipment used is calibrated and within the calibration period

    Are you a MATCH?

    • NDip. Analytical Chemistry, Technical Degree or equivalent

    Experience

    • At least 3 years experience in gas analysis 

    Competencies

    • Understand all relevant analytical instrumentation operation, preventative maintenance and operating principles.
    • Understand gas product specifications Blending tolerance and Uncertainty
    • Knowledge and properties of all gases used

    ILLOVO Technical Plant Operator

    • In this position the CO2 Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the CO2 Plant whilst adhering to safety and quality procedures.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • No contaminated product produced or supplied to Coca Cola or any food and beverage customers
    • Stock / Product availability to cater for the regions demands
    • Log production on IMRSA and complete production postings on NAV
    • Ensure IMS & Quality standards to be maintained (Internal & External)
    • Corrective and Preventative Maintenance as per Quality system and Objectives / Maximo and Intelex
    • Running and maintaining of all analytical equipment, including the Calibrations as per schedule
    • Conduct routine maintenance and maintaining stock of spares
    • Housekeeping on Plant, tanks and all equipment
    • Maintaining the Coca Cola & FSSC 22000 full approvals including the HACCP System
    • Identify plant abnormalities, reporting & rectifying
    • Maintain plant records for maintenance, logs and machine data
    • Comply with the Laws and Regulations applicable to the CO2 facility

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

    Educational requirements

    • Matric Certificate with Mathematics and Science
    • Technical background
    • Trade Tested Millwright (Preferred trade)

    Experience

    • Theoretical and practical knowledge of plant process/maintenance
    • 3 years or more of CO2 Recovery or relevant process experience
    • Food safety
    • Safety Procedures/OSH Act
