    Job Description

    The Internship Programme provides practical Work Learning and experience to individuals. The programme will run for a maximum period of 24 months.

    • Must be studying towards Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management/ Business Administration/ Human Resource Development/ Labour Law/ Labour Relations/ Employment Relations or

    Deployment Specialist

    Job Description

    The scope of the role will include the delivery and deployment of all value streams from the HR Excellence project and other programmes. This role will continuously work with Group HR and Business Units (BUs) to deploy new or expanded service activities within GSS PS to meet the needs of the business. This role will operationalise design plans into deployment plans and support on deployment activities.

    The primary accountabilities will incorporate:

    • Support the delivery of GSS PS deployment plans to manage testing, cutover, benefits realization, governance, risk and stabilisation to plan the deployment lifecycle
    • Support overall assessment of go-live readiness and anticipated support for GSS PS
    • Ensure a structured change management approach and methodology for business risks is applied
    • Coordinate and execute GSS PS change management with delivering deployment communications, local training and engagement-related activities.
    • Identify and support the resource requirements for GSS PS to deliver the deployment plan inclusive of project resources (e.g. Project Manager, Change Lead), business resource (e.g. Service Line Leaders and SMEs) and backfill requirements in order to deliver change where required.
    • Work with various teams such as communication, training, HR and OD specialists in the formulation of plans and activities to support the deployment
    • Identify and surface both the dependencies and the interfaces between deployment projects
    • Work with GSS PS Deployment Business Partner to ensure optimal Service Level metrics are in place to improve accountability, usability, value and relevance with GSS PS customers
    • Work with GSS PS Deployment Business Partner to ensure governance of desktop procedures, SOP’s are in place for all deployments undertaken
    • Partner with BU’s to understand their local nuances, build into deployment plan and ensure that they are documented as part of Global standard service line process
    • Work with GSS PS Deployment Business Partner to ensure that all deployments activities have a service charge agreement established or updated and are delivered to GSS PS Commercial team
    • Promote GSS PS to current as well as new businesses to achieve buy in and support
    • Maintain stakeholder relationships within GSS PS, including with the leads and teams in scope for deployment
    • Maintains GSS PS deployment reporting on status, risks and issues to key stakeholders.

    This role is at a Band 6 level, reporting to the GSS PS Global Deployment Business Partner.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree preferably in HR or Finance
    • Post qualification project management and management level experience
    • Valid Driver`s license

    Experience required:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in the deployment of work/activities
    • Good understanding of shared services and service management processes (performance management, service level management, customer surveys, continuous improvement, etc.)
    • Executing process/systems change in a shared service environment
    • MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as MS Project
    • Experience of successful implementation of strategy/projects as well as able to apply project management techniques to ensure multiple transitions can be executed simultaneously
    • Experience in leading high performing virtual teams in a global/ multi-national, vertically integrated group of companies of similar complexity
    • Strong written and oral communication skills are crucial
    • Proficient in English language
    • Some travel required

    Principal - Processing Digitalisation

    The Role

    We are looking for a Principal - Processing Digitalisation who will lead the identification and evaluation of projects for Processing Plants across Anglo American’s operations, aligned to T&S wider initiatives. This role will engage senior business stakeholders, operational personnel and T&S teams to develop a pipeline of projects to enable this. It is a key role for implementing and defining projects to stabilise and improve processing plant performance.

    This role will focus primarily on developing solutions for mineral processing plants with preference given to experience in diamond, coal or iron ore processing.

    Key role requirements:

    • Lead the creation and maintenance of a prioritised pipeline of projects for Processing that focus on value potential, delivery confidence, and Future Workplace (full automation and removal of low value-add work in the plant, empowering decisions through data analytics, enabling remote working and integrating decision making and processes across group functions).
    • Provide specialist knowledge of Processing to support the alignment of operational business processes with the Future Workplace Blueprint business processes.
    • Provide innovation and thought leadership within Processing that deliver significant value to business.
    • Keep updated on emerging enabling technology and services to support use-cases or enhance value.
    • Provide specialist knowledge to the Health of Discipline programs for Processing.
    • Provide specialist knowledge to the continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives for processing plants.

    Qualifications

    Formal Qualifications

    • Essential: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.

    • Strong analytical skills with an in depth understanding of processing tools, systems, and processes

    Data & Compliance Specialist

    Job Description

    As our Global Data & Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementation of a robust risk management framework to ensure adherence to internal control standards and compliance with regulatory, legal and corporate policy. This role will also be the data protection champion for GSS PS.

    The primary accountabilities will incorporate:
     

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate policy requirements. This will include adherence to internal control standards, identifying areas of potential weakness and opportunities for improvement
    • Implement a robust risk management framework based on compliance, which includes managing the identification of risks and mitigations, impact of risks and potential sources of risk
    • Monitor continuous alignment within GSS PS
    • Work with GSS PS teams to enhance the process control environment
    • Provide input into audits and assist GSS PS teams to track and close audit findings
    • Ensure that process changes are affected in accordance with change management and governance principles
    • Ensure processes are aligned to regulatory requirements such as GDPR, POPIA etc.
    • Be the GSS PS data protection champion for data protection queries and escalations, and provide support and guidance on data protection matters to GSS PS teams
    • Ensure that risks are subjected to the GSS PS risk management framework and that responses are effective (application, implementation, and reporting).
    • Develop, maintain, and manage the GSS PS Risk Register
    • Support the GSS PS teams in areas of internal control, risk, governance, and compliance
    • Develops and promotes a risk and control culture and strong internal control environment
    • Develop the GSS PS Risk Management framework to ensure that GSS PS identifies, assesses, responds, and monitors risks associated with its operations
    • Ensure that risk and control matrices (RACM) critical controls on process level are identified and considered in the risk register
    • Ensure that new risks/controls are identified for inclusion in the RACMs.
    • Ensure that controls are tested, and remediation needs are identified, agreed with process/control owners, tracked and reported on
    • Ensure that a training plan (content and delivery) is developed to enable sustained compliance requirements
    • Develop a strategy and approach for assessing the adequacy of the GSS PS internal control environment
    • Perform ad-hoc and planned control reviews to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment
    • Ensure that control deficiencies are considered in the GSS PS Risk Register and appropriate remediation plans are identified, agreed with process/control owners, tracked and reported on
    • Establish and implement the framework by which incidents across GSS PS are raised and responded to ensure that they do not reoccur
    • Ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is performed by the GSS PS team and ensure lessons learnt are implemented
    • Ensure that outcomes of the incident management process are responded to appropriately with the aim of controlling risk exposure and improving operational effectiveness of GSS PS
    • Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required

    This role is at a Band 6 level, reporting to the GSS PS Global Commercial Business Partner.

    Qualifications
     

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing/Finance/ Risk, compliance and governance law or equivalent is a minimum requirement

    Experience required:

    • 5 – 7 years’ experience in a Risk & Compliance / Audit environment
    • Experience in auditing principles and practices
    • Proficient English written and verbal communication competency advantageous
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong PC skills, with a confident approach working with MS Office
    • Ability to build relationships at all levels and work in collaboration with teams and service providers through virtual and face to face interaction.
