    Aircraft & Major Module Specialist

    • Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Aircraft & Major Module Records Specialist at our Head Office in Banaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Manager: Maintenance Planning.

    Job Description

    • Conduct inspections of all new aircraft records and new major module records entering the fleet;
    • Conduct record review inspections in line with lease contracts and company requirements;
    • Compile and control 'Open Item Listings' required for effective communication to lessors on any discrepancies noted on new aircraft;
    • Communicate outstanding items back to Legal and/or Asset Management departments during technical acceptance of new aircrafts or major modules;
    • Conduct offsite visits for aircrafts being inducted to review physical records and inspect the condition of aircrafts when required;
    • Support the compliance department with Certificate of Airworthiness inspection preparation for inducting aircrafts;
    • Coordinate effective lease return of major modules inclusive of aircraft and or engines;
    • Liaise with maintenance planners to coordinate tasks or check requirements for inductions or lease returns;
    • Liaise with records administrators to coordinate physical record requirements;
    • Coordinate annual lessor inspections and inform maintenance planners of any info required for operational aircrafts;
    • Liaise with the planning section to schedule inductions or deliveries;
    • Coordinate the compilation and distribution of work orders to MRO;
    • Ensure that all documentation issued is current. Inform asset management on requirements during the lease return process;
    • Assist with capturing ATLR's and component movements from ATLR's for aircrafts joining the fleet when required;
    • Assist with closing work orders from MRO when maintenance is completed;
    • Update logbooks for aircraft and major modules, entering and leaving the fleet;
    • Review completed work orders for accuracy;
    • Assist with capturing work order data from MRO. Assist with component movement from MRO work orders;
    • Assist with issuing of (CRS) Certificate of Release to service and or CRMA (Certificate Related to maintenance of an Aircraft) documents after maintenance is completed;
    • Create ad-hoc work orders;
    • Ensure that all AD's, SB I s, EO's and ASB are complied with;
    • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and guidelines;
    • Provide expert advice when required;
    • Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures;
    • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance;
    • Analyse Stakeholder needs and identify improvement initiatives;
    • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster meaningful interactions;
    • Encourage, promote, and embody a spirit of teamwork;
    • Assess and optimise the performance of direct reports;
    • Provide specialised insights to direct reports;
    • Guide, support and develop direct reports.

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Technical Diploma (Advantageous);
    • Type rating on aircrafts operated by Fly Safair (Advantageous); Certificate in maintenance planning (Advantageous);
    • 8-12 years of aircraft planning or records experience in a mid-size organisation (Essential);
    • Experience working on B737 aircraft type (Advantageous);
    • Willing to travel domestic and international
    • Willing to work overtime

    Talent Acquisition Specialist

    • Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Talent Acquisition Specialist at our Head Office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist.

    Job Description

    • Advertise job openings on careers pages, job boards and social networks (e.g., LinkedIn, Pnet etc.);
    • Effectively leverage off resources using a variety of sourcing tools (LinkedIn, Pnet, Direct Hire etc.) to source candidate profiles to create recruitment leads and build talent pools;
    • Screen CV’s and applications and update candidates on hiring processes;
    • Conduct the full recruitment process, from sourcing and pre-screening to interviews and background checks, ensuring candidates align with job requirements and organizational culture;
    • Ensure that interviews are scheduled and well coordinated by the Talent Acquisition Administrator;
    • Maintain candidate databases and track recruitment metrics to improve the recruitment process;
    • Support the TA Manager with the execution of recruitment strategies;
    • Ensure all recruitment practices are in compliance with labour laws and company policies;
    • Provide administrative support to the TA team when necessary, including managing correspondence, updating administrative information, and handling confidential information with discretion;
    • Stay updated on recruitment trends and best practices to continuously improve our recruitment strategies;
    • Build a talent pool for existing vacancies through headhunting, networking, etc;
    • Facilitate offers and pre-employment processes to ensure a smooth on-boarding experience;
    • Inform candidates regarding psychometric and/or simulator assessments where applicable;
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand their needs and provide fit for purpose recruitment solutions;
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to prepare interview questions and materials;
    • Report to hiring managers on the status of open positions and candidates for them to interview.

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (Advantageous);
    • 3–5 years recruitment experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle (preferably internal recruitment processes) (Essential);
    • Proven experience working on multiple vacancies with tight deadlines (Essential);
    • Exposure to Application Tracking Systems (Advantageous);
    • Knowledge and understanding of HRM practices and procedures (Avantageous);
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation (BCEA, EEA, SDA, Codes of Good Practices) (Advantageous);
    • End-to-end recruitment lifecycle knowledge (Essential);
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook);

    Direct Entry Captain (JHB,HLA,CPT,DBN)

    Job Description

    • Ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the aircraft in full compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, SOPs, and the Operations Manual (OM);
    • Exercise full command authority in operational decision-making, including the right to deny boarding or remove persons/cargo, always prioritising safety;
    • Conduct comprehensive pre-flight preparation, including aircraft inspections, weather analysis, route planning, and system checks;
    • Pilot and navigate the aircraft across all phases of flight, managing both normal and non-normal operations in coordination with ATC and crew;
    • Demonstrate technical proficiency and maintain high standards of flying skills to ensure operational efficiency and passenger safety;
    • Lead, coordinate, and support the flight crew, fostering teamwork, discipline, professionalism, and positive morale;

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum of 5000 hours TT and 2000 PIC >50T (Essential) OR;
    • 5000 hours TT and 1000 PIC 737 or similar (Essential);
    • Must have recent experience (within the past 24 months) as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on a large commercial airliner operating under Part 121, such as a Boeing 737 or an equivalent type (e.g., Airbus) (Essential);
    • No existing medical conditions that will affect his/her role as Captain (Essential);
    • Ability to work irregular hours (Essential);
    • Willing to sign an Upgrade Training Bond (Essential);
    • Knowledge of Air Traffic Control Airspace and procedures;
    • Good knowledge of South African CARS and CATS;
    • Knowledge of Doc 8168;
    • Excellent knowledge of the Safair OM, Boeing SOP's - Normal & Non-Normal procedures.
