    Financial Accountant

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Management of the creditors, banking, funds, fixed assets and payroll
    • Assist in annual budgeting and continuous budget control
    • Responsible for issuing accurate and timeous monthly financial reports
    • Review monthly Management Accounts and provide variance report
    • Assist with the external and internal audits
    • Check, authorise and release creditors payments
    • Oversee procurement of fixed assets as per policy
    • Review monthly management accounts to ensure accuracy and provide consolidated variance report
    • Ensure all balance sheet, Payroll and Income Statement recons are accurate and done on time
    • Responsible for drafting Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
    • Manage staff and review performance
    • Ensure all regional income statements are accurate, and distributed on time to all managers
    • Responsible for all balance sheet and income statement recons
    • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements 
    • Query resolution
    • Adhoc projects as assigned by the General Manager Finance

    •  Above average verbal and written communication and listening skills
    • Ability to adhere to deadlines
    • Must at all times be diplomatic and assertive
    • Ability to work independently and use initiative along with problem solving abilities
    • Ability to build strong effective relationships with clients, colleagues and management
    • Must be a good team player and achieve objectives as set out by the General Manager Finance
    • Must be meticulous in carrying out tasks/instructions etc
    • Must have good interpersonal and decision making skills
    •  Must have good analytical skills with attention to detail
    •  Report writing skills
    • Ability to work under pressure

    Requirements

    Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

    • Recognized Accounting qualification.
    • 3-5 years working experience, with atleast 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level.
    • Bookkeeping with full accounting function experience.
    • Experience in handling the year-end audit process.
    • People management in all aspects
    • Computer literacy - Accounting package (Sage an advantage), Advanced Excel, Word, Outlook
    • Payroll related experience advantage
    • Be affiliated with either, SAICA (SA Institute of Chartered Accountants); CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
    • SAGE(X3)
    • Caseware working systems
    • Advance excel skills

    Managing Commissioner

    Major responsibilities / accountabilities

    • Effectively manage the Kwazulu Natal office of the DRC within the budgetary parameters as set by the DRC Director 
    • Manage the Kwazulu Natal office in line with the strategic objectives of the Motor Industry Bargaining Council, policies, and procedures
    • Maintain the DRC’s position as a high-performing dispute resolution body that services the needs and interests of parties within the Industry.
    • Conduct Conciliation and Arbitrations
    • Attend to requests for postponement and interlocutory applications.
    • Oversee all S143 Applications and Reviews
    • Provide ad hoc training, guidance and support to DRC Staff and stakeholders
    • Respond to complaints and queries
    • Ensure adequate capacity to attend to DRC processes

    Requirements

    Requirements / Experience

    • CCMA accreditation is a paramount requirement
    • Post-graduate qualification in Labour Law and relevant HR or IR experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing disputes within a Bargaining Council or CCMA
    • High-level knowledge of Labour Court processes and procedures
    • Previous people management experience
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills 
    • Basic knowledge of the MIBCO Collective Agreements will be an advantage
    • Working knowledge of the CCMA Case Management System would be an advantage
    • Strong work ethic
    • Ability to consistently meet performance targets
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Admission as an attorney/ advocate would be an advantage
