    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Purpose

    • The Senior Mechanical Engineer will report tthe Team Lead: Mechanical Design Engineering. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be required tsupport in the scoping of new projects, mechanical design, compiling technical specifications for procurement of tagged equipment and support the implementation of designs independently in a multidisciplinary team texecute the Mechanical engineering & design deliverables during various design stages of projects. The candidate will need tdevelop team members, provide guidance, and set the example. Generate and review technical work accurately and drive internal processes tmeet the client needs/deadlines.

    Requirements
    To generate and execute technical deliverables including: 

    • scoping. work breakdown and  allocation as well as generation of mechanical designs on Greenfields and Brownfields projects
    • Ensure that discipline deliverables have been executed in accordance with the necessary technical standards, specifications, client requirements, applicable internal quality systems, and interface requirements with other work/disciplines.
    • Interfacing and liaising with clients during proposal, design, and construction phases of projects. 
    • Interfacing and liaising with supply, fabrication and construction subcontractors during proposal, design and construction phases of projects. 
    • To perform discipline inputs in MFD (P&ID) reviews, HAZOP study, Model and constructability reviews, Mechanical /design philosophy review meetings internally and with clients.

    Qualifications/Experience

    • B Eng. / BSc (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering 
    • Minimum five years’ experience in industrial mechanical and piping engineeringprojects. 
    • Registered as a candidate with ECSA, (Pr Eng would be advantageous). 
    • Experience in the application of ASME codes, API Standards, Pressure Equipment Regulations, SANS 347, and other international standards for vessels and piping. 
    • Exposure tpiping and mechanical fabrication and construction projects and processes. 
    • Experience in projects that involve multi-discipline teams. 
    • Exposure tand experience within the petrochemical sector and API standards would be advantageous. 
    • Vessel and/or structural design experience would be advantageous. 
    • Familiarity with the following software packages: 
    • PVElite Compress 
    • Inventor

    Senior Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader

    Purpose

    • The Senior Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader will be responsible to lead the Mechanical team in Durban and will report to the General Manager Durban. The Senior Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader will be required to respond to RFQ’s for Mechanical work as well as manage his/her team to execute the Mechanical engineering & design deliverables during various design stages of projects.     Proposals Officer

    Purpose

    • Work closely with management in all aspects of Proposals to ensure successful submission of estimates and quotations whilst maintaining high standards. Assist with overall proposal development, from bid decision to post-submittal requirements, integration of the offering and proposal planning, transitioning to proposal development, ensuring timely proposal delivery, compliance, and responsiveness.

    Requirements

    • Ensures RFQ documentation is received and that the gatekeeping of quoting (minimum qualifications, BBBEE, CIDB, etc.) has been evaluated. 
    • Responsible for compilation of quotation documents and returnable schedule. 
    • Responsible to ensure "on-time" submission of tender 
    • Ensure management system compliance daily. 
    • Ensure all relevant stakeholders to the bid have access to the documentation. 
    • Ensure proposal compliance and responsiveness, bid strategy deployment, and the quality of proposal deliverables. 
    • Act as point of contact for prospects in Johannesburg and interact with various client portals (e.g., Ariba, Coupa).
    • Identify commercial, technical, logistical, and vendor risks. 
    • Maintain high standard submission accuracy, and input and ensure tender deadlines and that timeframes are adhered to. 
    • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications 
    • Assist to improve the organization’s proposal process from pre-proposal planning through proposal delivery and support of post-submittal deliverables 
    • Work closely with other disciplines, project managers, and senior managers with the intention to support and achieve the goals of the company.

    Qualifications/Experience

    • NQF 6 - Diploma, Higher certificate. 
    • Knowledge of PFMA Network within clients of interest. 
    • Quantity Surveying/Estimating experience is advantageous. 
    • Minimum 3 years' experience compiling tenders for SoE and/or the private sector. 
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office (excel, word) and PDF software (Foxit/Adobe). 
    • Knowledge of various types of contracts to ensure commercial/legal compliance with quotation submissions. NEC3 and familiarity with purchase orders are a must. 
    • Commercial and/or Project Management experience advantageous. 
    • Petrochemical and/or SOE environment experience advantageous.

    Construction Manager

    Purpose

    • As a Construction Manager, you will work closely with the project delivery team. Ensuring that construction requirements are met so that customers identify with Proconics as a trusted and critical partner to their business.

    Requirements

    • Lead a team of contractors in guiding their planning, organizing, coordinating and safe execution of construction projects, 
    • Verify the construction scopes in RFQ/ RFP phases of construction projects to support the project team in compiling detailed BOQ’s 
    • Continuously develop, monitor, support and implement construction management processes/ systems that support and promote the business and client continuous improvement efforts, 
    • Legal responsibilities as per Construction Regulations (CR) 8.1 (core) and/or 8.2 as an assistant to relieve and/ or support construction managers on site as and when required, 
    • Oversee and guide construction projects from initial phase to completion, 
    • Assist and support Snr Manager Construction to develop and implement construction management processes and procedures based on industry best practices and to retain client relations, 
    • Review the project in-depth to schedule activities and assist the planner with detailed time lines for execution phase of projects together with the contractor 
    • Facilitate construction meetings when executing construction projects 
    • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations, 
    • Plan, coordinate, guide and manage construction workers and subcontractors, 
    • Continuously assess safeness of work sites/ areas to ensure safety of people and property, communicate such and keep records thereof, 
    • Support project managers to meet contractual obligations of projects performances, 
    • Support, monitor and guide performance of contractors and maintain regular heartbeats to promote teamwork and collaboration across all disciplines. 
    • Day to day interactions with client and client progress meetings

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Trade related qualifications or construction management qualifications. 
    • Must be registered or working towards becoming a registered construction manager with SACPCMP 
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Construction Manager in with experience in Petrochemical industries with a proven track record and relevant technical experience. 
    • Legal Liability and Construction Regulations training will be an advantage 
    • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods and contractor management skills. 
    • Understanding of all the different construction planning processes and phases, 
    • Good knowledge of the New Engineering Contracts (NEC3) Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC) types of contracts, 
    • Ability to plan proactively towards achieving key construction milestones, 
    • Advanced knowledge of managing brownfields multidisciplinary construction challenges, 
    • Knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and regulations, 
    • Knowledge of legal appointments according to the construction regulations. 
    • Must be able to construct safe and fit for purpose solutions to clients to create long-term relationships
