PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- The Projects and Construction Foreman is responsible for on-boarding of contractors, issuing of Permits to Work (PTW), oversee the installation or erection of plant and equipment, exiting of the contractors from site as well as being the solution provider for minor capital projects.
- The role holder will form an integral part of the Projects team that is required to help with executing the capex plan for the Smelter and Site services in line with the Rand Refinery Stage Gate process.
- The role holder will be accountable for the safe execution of projects in line with the OHS Act as well as company safety policy and procedures.
- Completion of the project within schedule and cost.
- The candidate filling this position may be required to work rotational stand-by with other foremen as when required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
RESOURCE PLANNING AND EXECUTION
- Administration and motivation of projects based on the User Requirements Specifications
- Manage resource for optimal installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Ensure that all deliverables required have been met and potentially exceeded. (Project Quality)
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Management of contractors of all disciplines related to the installation and construction of plant and equipment on site (No cost overruns)
OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES
- Oversee, manage, and direct construction and installation of plant and equipment on site from concept to handover with minimal impact to the plant and operations (Schedule compliance & Plant availability).
SAFETY COMPLIANCE
- Verification that all safety files are compliant to RR standards and the OHS Act.
- All installations are compliance to relevant legislation applicable to the work carried out.
- Implement, drive and monitor Zero Harm, practices, systems and processes, in areas of Safety, health and environment.
- Demonstrate felt safety leadership, amongst direct and indirect reports,
- Monitor and share Company-wide similarities/learning opportunities
- Ensure statutory compliance within the project being supervised with regards to all installed plant and equipment.
SHEQ
- Participate in incident investigations
- Facilitate, and participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences
- Participate in any inspection or audit as may be required

- Comply with and ensures that all health and safety rules are met and acts pro-actively by addressing any safety concerns which may be harmful to self or other employees.
- Participate in formal SHEQ Audits.

- Ensuring that the work carried out according to the specifications as listed in the User Requirement Specification.
- Installation of all plant and equipment meets the generally accepted technical standards for the work being done.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Preference will be given to candidates that possesses a N3 or equivalent qualification with a recognised Trade Test certificate in Electro-mechanical, Boiler making or Fitting or Electrical trade.
- A national diploma or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.

- Asset Care / Maintenance of the plant equipment performance and administration.
- Good knowledge of troubleshooting and fault-finding on equipment
- Good knowledge of permit to work systems

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to undertake detailed analysis of Rand Refinery Operations to develop strategies and recommendations that will improve equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness and asset standardization.
Furthermore, the role must ensure that the departmental Maintenance Planning Team (resources) develop effective asset care strategies, standards, schedules, and task instructions, through accurate data analysis and reporting. The role must also advise on spares and materials strategies. The position will report directly to the Engineering Manager (GCC).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Reliability Manager provides functional and technical leadership across disciplines and takes open ended risked based decisions based on detailed analysis where the successful outcomes will only be known at a later stage. The role shall also:
- Collaborate with maintenance managers and their teams to develop, maintain and compile equipment reliability and credibility to formulate planning, delivery and maintenance strategies.
- Develop failure mode and effect critical analysis in conjunction with maintenance managers and their teams.
- Part-take in the formulation of asset management system in accordance with ISO55000.
- Formulate and review engineering specification with emphasis on improving reliability while reducing costs.
- Part-take in quality inspection and factory acceptance tests.
- Routinely conduct root cause analysis and generate corrective and preventative actions.
- Routinely compile reliability, availability and overall equipment effectiveness reports in conjunction with key stakeholder teams and compile maintenance status reports and dashboards.
- Setting up and reviewing of the effectiveness of predictive maintenance on all critical equipment.
- Assist maintenance mangers and procurement in setting up of critical spares policies with emphasis in reducing mean time to repair.
- Assist the maintenance managers in the optimization of preventative maintenance.
- Implement RCM leading indicator to predict failures before they happen.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Rand Refinery safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principals, corporate values and strategies.
- Part-take in scheduled asset management system audits.
- Manage the safekeeping of technical information and manuals.
- Review of Engineering risk register as may be required.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- National Higher Diploma, BTech or Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electro-mechanical).
- 5 years or more experience in Maintenance and Asset Care Environment, whilst leading Reliability and Planning teams.
- KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced knowledge of SAP PM module and general maintenance planning best practises.
- Knowledge of ISO5500 or PAS55
- High level ability to analyse and interpret condition monitoring information to develop relevant solutions for reliability improvement plans.
- Knowledge and experience working in a procession plant, preferable a Smelter and/or a Refinery.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- The Building Supervisor is responsible for maintenance of the Refractory section and all other work not associated with mechanical and electrical work such as building, plumbing, and painting work at the Smelter as well as the co-ordination required to get contractors through the RR security and screening systems to site for all departments.
- The role holder will provide and implement control systems and policies whilst optimising the interface between the maintenance unit and the customers.
- The role holder will form an integral part in the implementation and execution of planned maintenance programmes for the Smelter, in line with optimising reliability of all Plant, buildings and equipment.
- The role holder will be accountable for the execution of all maintenance intervention in line with best practices to ensure plant safety, maximum plant availability and reliability in a cost-effective manner. It may be required to work rotational stand-by with other Mason as when required.
- This position will be reporting to the E&I Foreman.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
