Main Objectives

• To fulfil the operational and strategic management obligations of a Community Radio Station, and in doing so ensuring that Rhodes Music Radio is a functional, sustainable, and legislatively compliant broadcaster which meets the needs of its community.

The requirements

Grade 12 and a radio, sound or broadcast related certification (NQF Level 5 or above), plus approximately 4 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -

• Previous experience in radio broadcasting, including in studio production and mixing desks.
• Demonstrated technical skills and aptitude for broadcast technology inclusive of software.
• Previous Experience in the development and implementation of radio programming including of on-air content for broadcast.
• Previous management/supervision experience

The requirements of the post:

• A PhD with considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• A solid track record of supervising Master’s and PhD students to completion, with postdoctoral support experience.
• Evidence of a national and/or international research profile.
• Track record of administration, management and leadership roles.
