    Structural Engineers / Technologists (Junior / Intermediate / Senior)

    Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:

    • BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (specialization in the structural design of buildings).
    • 3 to 15 years’ relevant experience within the consulting engineering environment.
    • Professional / candidate registration with ECSA.
    • Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects is advantageous.
    • Experience in the execution of FMCG industrial projects and data centre projects is advantageous.
    • Good knowledge of structural standards, guidelines and working methods.
    • Advanced Revit modelling skills.
    • Advanced ProKon skills.
    • Experience with the use of 3D calculation software.
    • Parametric Design, Automated Engineering and Augmented Design experience

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Structural engineering and design during all project phases according to client, national and international standards.
    • Assess client/ project structural engineering requirements.
    • Prepare concept design and objectively evaluate, both technically and commercially, different options based upon project objectives/requirements.
    • Perform the necessary calculations for complex steel, concrete and timber structures and contribute to the drafting of designs in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Lead Engineer(s).
    • Address complex technical questions from clients, in cooperation with the consulting engineer.
    • Perform checks and attend meetings with clients and contractors during the execution phase of projects.
    • Collaborate with colleagues or third parties on (a part of) the structural design.
    • Ensure that from a technical and budgetary point of view (time and money) your processes and activities run according to established principles and as required by quality standards.
    • Check calculations and drawings of colleagues or third parties.
    • Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system.
    • Mentor junior engineers where applicable.

    Senior Commercial Project Manager

    Main Responsilibities:

    • Identify and analyse client needs and contribute to the preparation of the proposal document, which clearly defines project objectives, the associated scope, and the deliverables.
    • Identify and analyse required resource planning, risks and costs which will result in the project meeting or exceeding the needs and expectations of the client and other external stakeholders, and the best achievable profit to RHDHV.
    • Develop and finalise project plans, understand the contractual terms, confirm the budgets and the required resources, clarify roles and involvement of project team members, and obtain the required approvals in order to be able to effectively carry out the defined project activities during the project execution phase.
    • Direct the project activities, manage project risks, issues, changes, and resources (include subcontracts where applicable).
    • Monitor and measure and control the project’s performance against project plan, in particular the commercial, cost and forecasting aspects.
    • Identify risk mitigation activities leading to adjustments of the project plan, so that preventative and corrective action can be taken when necessary to ensure that the project objectives are achieved, including the best feasible financial result.
    • Communicate project progress to internal and external stakeholders, in relation to the project plan by means of periodical and ad hoc communication, report and or analysis that enable the client and the other stakeholders to make timely decisions, including determining whether adjustment to the project plan is required.
    • Handover the final project deliverables to the client, finalise all outstanding commercial matters, confirm client acceptance and satisfaction.
    • Evaluate the project performance against project plan, identify and analyse lessons learned with a view to continuous improvement of project execution methods, skills and to archive the project documents.
    • Negotiate with external and internal parties with the objective of acquiring contracts and/or provision of services from internal or external parties for the best achievable quality and price and subsequently for achieving the successful realisation of such contracts or services.
    • Build, maintain and utilise a network of internal and external stakeholders and or partners that is sustainable and accessible and contributes to the success of the project.
    • Participate in the selection of the project team.
    • Optimise the project team’s motivation and performance in achieving the project goals, including resolving issues, encouraging communication, and providing feedback, thereby improving capabilities and interaction of the individual project team members.
    • Participate with line management in the appraisal and the development of project team members.
    • Supports the AG management team with business development and key account management initiatives towards the achievement of the sales targets.
    • Supports the AG management team with various activities towards the achievement of Improvement targets.
    • Promote diversity and inclusion within the AG.

    Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:

    • BEng, BSc or BTech Engineering
    • Registered with ECSA as Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)/Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) preferred
    • Project Management certification (IPMA, PMI, APM or similar)
    • Registered with SACPMP as Pr CPM / Pr CM preferred
    • 15 years of experience in Project Management
    • ISO19650 training certificate will be advantageous
    • Extensive knowledge of managing multi-disciplinary projects, complex in nature and of duration >12 months.
    • Municipal and /or consulting engineering work experience advantageous.
    • Contract Management and Administration experience.
    • Intensive knowledge of Business Development experience

    Preferred Digital Competencies

    • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and other digital tools and technologies used in construction.
    • Understanding of how digital technologies can be used to improve project performance, such as through enhanced collaboration and communication, improved decision-making, and increased productivity.
    • Ability to use digital tools to manage project information, including document control, change management, and information tracking.
    • Knowledge of data management and analysis, including the ability to use data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
    • Understanding of digital security and the ability to protect project information from unauthorized access or breaches.
    • The ability to lead and manage digital transformation projects, including the ability to understand and align technology with business goals.
    • Adeptness in virtual collaboration, remote working and managing virtual teams.
    • Responsibilities when implementing ISO 19650 include utilizing a Building Information Modelling Execution Planning (BEP), a Model Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), a Team Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and a Common Data Environment (CDE)
    • The BEP outlines the overall strategy for implementing BIM on the project and serves as a guide for the project team in terms of BIM requirements, roles, and responsibilities.
    • The MIDP defines the information requirements for the project and outlines the process for delivering that information.
    • The TIDP defines the specific information requirements and delivery processes for each project team member.
    • The CDE serves as a central repository for all project information, ensuring that all team members have access to the most up-to-date information and that it is properly controlled and managed.
    • Is also responsible for ensuring that all team members of the project are trained on the use of BIM and the specific tools and processes defined in the BEP, MIDP, and TIDP, and that the CDE is properly set up and maintained throughout the project. Additionally, the project manager is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of the BIM processes and tools and making any necessary adjustments to ensure that they are effective and efficient.

    Resident Engineer

    Main Responsibilities

    • Review of tender documentation and drawings to be undertaken immediately upon appointment, to identify risk and clarify any design issues
    • Construction supervision and monitoring to ensure that the project remains within budget and complies with specifications
    • Management of all site staff, including PLO, trainees and sub-consultants (materials laboratory, OH&S, EMP, etc)
    • Report to the Engineer and liaise with contractorsContract administration duties
    • Responsible for all aspects of monthly site meetings, technical site meetings and PLC meetings
    • Measure and prepare monthly progress payment certificates and submit final drafts to the Engineer
    • Prepare, check and submit final draft WAF’s / VO’s for approval with motivation
    • Prepare, correlate and compile all documents and information that may be required by the Engineer to assess and consider any claims submitted by the Contractor and submit information with recommendation
    • Implementation and adherence to quality management and quality control procedures
    • Be knowledgeable on and apply the policies and procedures of the Client (SANRAL)
    • Monitor the site health and safety and environmental for compliance
    • Regular supervision of measures taken for the accommodation of traffic and the safety of the travelling public and accurate record keeping thereof
    • Keep a daily diary of construction activities and progress
    • Preparation of monthly progress reports
    • Liaison with local authorities, services owners and landowners
    • Mark-up and preparation of record drawings

    Experience,Knowledge and Skills

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience
    • Knowledge of construction of pavement layers, asphalt surfacing and surfacing seals
    • Experience on SANRAL projects/understanding of SANRAL procedures is preferable
    • Experience with bridge design and/or construction of bridges is preferable
    • Experience with construction planning and works programming
    • Knowledge of FIDIC and COLTO/COTO
    • Computer literacy is essential
    • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook; Good working knowledge of MS Project or similar
    • A valid Code 08 driver’s license with own transport

    Intermediate Mechanical Engineers/Technologists

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Efficiently engineer and model design using technical and 3D/BIM modeling skills.
    • Engineering the mechanical design in project teams under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
    • Develop line diagrams of the mechanical installation and coordinate with other disciplines for the initial space reservations.
    • Modelling the mechanical installation in 3D Revit/BIM based on the diagrams and coordinated space reservations.
    • Implement your knowledge based on functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it.
    • Work within a multidisciplinary team across borders.
    • In addition to participating in projects, contribute to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within the field.

    Qualifications, skills and experience:

    • BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Professional / candidate registration with ECSA
    • Minimum of 3 – 10+ years post graduate relevant, multi-disciplinary experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment
    • BIM and Revit experience are non-negotiable.
    • BIM360, Revizto, Dynamo and Python experience are advantageous.
    • Demonstrable experience in the mechanical engineering field with an in-depth knowledge of Building Services, HVAC.
    • Experience with data centres / mission-critical / industrial facilities advantageous
    • Extensive knowledge of local and international standards and codes
    • Enthusiastic, go-getter attitude
    • Accurate and detail oriented with good organisational skills (plan and prioritise)
    • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle pressure
    • Excellent communication skills (at all levels and across cultures)
    • Excellent team relationship skills
