    Product Specialist- S4

    The Role

    • Product Specialist in open pit mining operations, specializing in Boom and Rotary Drilling equipment. Possesses advanced expertise in electrical and hydraulic systems, Can Bus communication, GPS integration, IFM modules, IP addressing, and gateway technologies.
    • As a Product Specialist you will be responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of the customer and internal personnel. The role is product focused and concentrates on providing guidance and advice on the implementation and strategies for the product range.  Product specifications, selection and its application lie with this role

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and organize product training for sales and service personnel for the respective products
    • Provide technical training to the service network and customer base on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices
    • Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel
    • Provide feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation
    • Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements
    • Review spare parts recommendations and develops accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC)
    • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the respective factories
    • Monitor test results for new products to implement improvement of the product
    • Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
    • Perform equipment installations and demonstrations in a safe manner

    Profile Required

    • Grade 12/ equivalent qualification
    • Trade certificate of competence (Millwright/Electrical/Fitter & Turner/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic, accompanied by apprenticeship portfolio of evidence.
    • 5 years relevant mechanized mining experience in a surface environment
    • Experience in maintenance of surface drills
    • Mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment maintenance competence in at least 6 of the following areas:
    • Knowledge on IFM Modules   
    • Knowledge of Can Bus systems, troubleshooting / maintenance
    • Level 3 Low Voltage electrohydraulic electrical systems
    • Mechanical equipment
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Video display and GPS systems
    • Basic IT skills (knowledge and functions of IP addresses and gate ways)
    • Advanced electrical systems (low current relays, electronic timers, electrical/electronic overloads and protection devices, solenoids, actuators, proximity devices etc.)
    • Basic knowledge of software
    • Knowledge and interpretation of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematic reading.
    • Knowledge of basic safety circuits
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment.

    Operations Manager - M3

    Job Description

    • The purpose of this role is to drive the profit and manage loss by securing the market for the Parts and Service division through our strategy and further maintain, protect increase the market share for Parts and Service and delivered productivity improvement on customer sites.

     Main Responsibilities

    • Participate in the formulation of the divisional strategy in line with company strategy
    • Develop all segments sales strategy in conjunction with the Product line Manager, Customer Services and the strategic projects
    • Lead aftermarket business growth in the respective areas of control
    • Develop the aftermarket support in the areas of control to meet and exceed customer satisfaction
    • Identifying, analysing, and driving resolution of customer issues (warranty and non-warranty) with account management
    • Setting up and manage service contract operations to meet the contract target cost
    • Executing field service activities
    • Setting up and managing service field operations
    • Effective Operations Management
    • Responsible for investing competitor activities and conducting relevant market research that enables the segment to maintain market competitiveness
    • Planning and assigning contract managers and area field service managers to various teams and individuals
    • Effective cost effectiveness through management of profit and loss by ensuring that revenue and profitability targets are set for the various customer sites, monitored and remediated where necessary
    • Manage sound employee relations in accordance with People policies and procedures.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric (Grade 12)/N3 Technical/equivalent (NQF Level 4)
    • Relevant Business or technical qualification (NQF Level 6)
    • Intermediate Computer literacy (including relevant programs)
    • Knowledge of Sandvik Databases

    Experience

    • Experience in senior Management position (7 years)
    • Experience in operational management (7 years)
    • English proficiency
    • Experience in mining applications underground mining (Specifically board and pillar applications)

    Other Requirements

    • Physical & Medical ability to function in an underground coal environment
    • Will be required to travel

    Warehouse Operations Manager - Distribution Hub and Saterllites

    The Role

    • Supply Chain Distribution is responsible for operating Sandvik Mining’s logistics infrastructure for the aftermarket. This infrastructure delivers logistics services aligned with the service requirements set by Sandvik Mining.
    • The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and continuously improving the Warehouse and Distribution operations of the Africa Distribution Hub. The role ensures the successful execution of warehouse operations at optimal cost, while meeting service level requirements, EHS standards, and business performance targets. There is a strong focus on operational excellence, people leadership, financial management, and continuous improvement within the logistics services operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • The Operations Manager is accountable for the overall success of the warehouse and distribution function and the day-to-day management of warehouse operations in line with supply chain service requirements and budgeted costs.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Setup strategic goals and plans for the distribution centre and satellite warehouses
    • Planning, monitoring, and managing warehouse operational performance against service, cost, and efficiency targets
    • Managing inventory functions including inbound receiving, outbound dispatch, and inventory control
    • Drive on time in full delivery results and expectations
    • Leading, managing, and developing the operational logistics warehouse team
    • Ensuring execution of operations in accordance with EHS policies and global Sandvik Mining logistics processes
    • Accountable for EHS performance and employee performance management
    • Implementing and supporting Warehouse and Transport Management Systems (WMS/TMS) and ERP initiatives
    • Ensuring daily cycle counts, bin audits, and stock accuracy checks are performed and analyzed
    • Controlling and clearing blocked stock (frozen inventory)
    • Managing stock adjustments, short picks, scrap processes, and returns
    • Controlling vulnerable and high-value materials in line with GIA requirements
    • Managing transportation of materials to customers and stock movements between stockrooms
    • Maintaining and improving warehouse processes to limit financial and shrinkage risks
    • Managing infrastructure integrity, capacity planning, and operational layout
    • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics operations
    • Managing supplier relationships and customer service levels
    • Financial management including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, working capital, and cost control
    • Manage stakeholders relationship for divisions being supported by the distribution centre

    Your Profile

    • Grade 12 (Matric) completed
    • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in Warehousing, Distribution, or Supply Chain Management, preferably in fast paced, mining or distribution environment
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role, including people management and budget responsibility
    • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes
    • Demonstrated experience in change management and leading WMS or ERP system implementations
    • Valid driver’s license
