Main Purpose of the Job

The Database Administrator (DBA) requires specific technical knowledge about the administration and control of the data warehouse environment, including the database, operating systems and tools. The DBA will provide services to administer, maintain, and control the data warehouse including the database, operating systems, and tools. The Database Administrator may be the Lead Consultant on a project.

  Key Areas of Responsibility

•   Maintaining the database server and application tools
•   Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
•   Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application
•   Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application
•   Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
•   Enrolling users and maintaining system security
•   Ensuring compliance with the license agreement
•   Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
•   Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
•   Planning for backup and recovery of database information
•   Maintaining archived data on tape
•   Backing up and restoring the database
•   Performing migration from Teradata Enterprise to Teradata Application

• Develop and manage CI/CD process for different types of application and automate as many processes as possible
• Manage and support environments in Azure cloud
• Support development teams in technical questions of continuous integration/continuous delivery.
• Manage the full release process

Education Required:

•   Certification in Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions and Applications Development for Azure Cloud Architect.
•   BSC or BTech in Application Development or Computer Science is desirable

Experience Required:

•   At least 2 years’ experience in DevOps. This includes Azure Cloud, Azure Development, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, Dynamics 365

Advantageous Competencies:

• Enterprise Architect, Best Practice Frameworks (CMMI, ISO, SixSigma), Office 365 suite.

• The person should be self-motivated and be solution driven. Able to work without direct supervision and build up good relationships with clients.
