    Instrumentation Technician

    Job Description
    What you will do:
    The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational systems support to the process division. The role requires a high degree of competence in instrumentation used in highly automated plants. The role is further responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimised to ensure that the capacity to the production process is maximised.

    Your key responsibilities will include:
    Calibration and maintenance of all equipment in the control solution including but not limited to:

    • Performing standby duties from time to time and work extended hours as when required
    • Call-outs and problem solution in a reasonable time to reduce plant downtimes
    • Collaborative Support to the Instrumentation and the entire engineering team
    • Liaison with the Instrumentation suppliers for plant equipment improvement and upgrades as when technology changes
    • The information management solution (acquaint process operators with Instrumentation equipment operation as when necessary)

    Control Solution performance management including:

    • Alignment to the Anglo Platinum control solution standard
    • Control solution performance optimisation
    • Implementation of solutions to improve plant equipment reliability
    • Instrumentation equipment maintenance & availability
    • Minimising Instrumentation downtime to increase plant availability & runtime

    Control Solution systems and procedures:

    • Change management & control procedures
    • Spares management and replenishment accordingly
    • Equipment parameters backups and restore procedures
    • Identify areas of poor availability
    • Disseminate best practice in instrumentation aspects
    • Mitigate risks by Identifying & auditing high risks and safety critical areas/tasks in order for measures to be put in place
    • Analyse and identify problems on the current control solution for continuous improvement
    • System trouble shooting and hardware problems resolution
    • Support on existing instrumentation, networks and hardware's
    • Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution
    • Adherence to the Anglo Platinum Change management procedure
    • Adherence to Anglo Platinum Group Technical Standards
    • Assist with commissioning for onsite projects
       

    Qualifications
    What we are looking for a candidate with:

    • Electrical Engineering (Light Current) National Diploma or NQF level 6 equivalent with 5 years applicable experience
    • Anglo Platinum recognised trade test (external applicants only)
    • English literate
    • Good decision-making skills
    • Valid driving licence code 08
    • Knowledge of density measurement
    • Knowledge of electromechanical belt scales
    • Knowledge on variable speed drives (VSD)
    • Knowledge in Allen Bradley PLC-5 programming and hardware
    • Knowledge in Allen Bradley PLC-500, ControLogix 5000
    • PLC hardware and networking fault-finding
    • Knowledge of Siemens PCS7 and Citect Scada
    • Knowledge of Profibus Networking
    • Controller loop tuning
    • Knowledge of the telemetry system (Radio communication)

    Planner Asset Management

    Job Description

    The Planner is jointly responsible for establishing and embedding the sites Pro-active Maintenance Program on equipment, being primarily responsible to specify the requirements for completing approved work and ensuring that the program is revised routinely and is effective in its outputs and results.
    The Planner enables the Asset Management Teams to deliver the ‘Right Maintenance, the Right Way, at the Right Time’ thereby providing the Production Teams with safe, reliable and cost-effective production capacity.

    • Plan and organise work according to Operating model or PASS 55 or SAP PM principles or good work management planning principles.
    • Health and Safety
    • Business Center Maintenance

    Key Maintenance Tactics/Service Strategy Accountabilities:

    • Act promptly where the outcomes affect Maintenance Planning efficiencies and effectiveness
    • Systems & Procedures - Actively review systems and procedures regularly within the area to maximise effectiveness and efficiency within the Company

    Key Work Management Accountabilities:

    • Review the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis: To assist in prioritizing the planning work/ To track upcoming work
    • Plan approved work orders (within area of responsibility) for resource provisioning and execution prior to the Required Date
    • Incorporate crew input into planning packages
    • At operations/sections without Schedulers, execute the “Schedule Work” element of Asset Management/Operating Model

    Material Management:

    • Coordinating the establishment of new materials (codification)
    • Monitoring Manufacturer / Supplier Warranties on equipment, parts and services

    Facility/Tools Management:

    • Supporting good Housekeeping practices
    • Exercising Control over Tools Management

    Financial Management:

    • Proactively monitoring Asset Management Spend
    • Providing Inputs into Maintenance Budgets

    Information/Performance Management:

    • Production of period reports (weekly and monthly) detailing planned versus actual maintenance activities and resource usage. Development of other reports as necessary
    • Keeps management informed and shares information. Provides well thought out, concise and timely oral and written information

    Continuous Improvement/Defect Elimination/Analyse and Improve:

    • Actively review systems and procedures regularly within the area to maximise effectiveness and efficiency within the Company
    • Technical Stoppage Report to assist in identifying Functional Failures
    • Provide leadership and supervision for continual improvement of processes and procedures
       

    Qualifications

    • Successfully completed all Planner Asset Management training modules
    • Must have a Trade Test Certificate
    • Qualified Artisan in a specific discipline or has suitable other technical qualifications
    • Valid driver’s Licence code B
    • Matric with Math and Science
    • Must have an understanding of the following trades: electrical, mechanical and instrumental
    • 3-5 years Planned Maintenance or Production Experience in Mining/Process Industry
    • Good analytical and decision-making skills
    • Must have understanding of shutdown management principles
    • Must have report writing skills, draw and compile reports (from various systems) required to optimise the work management requirements
    • Experience in using a computerised planned maintenance system (SAP PM)
    • Advanced SAP Planned Maintenance Training Module
    • In depth knowledge of discipline specific work to be planned
    • Basic artisan Training Module
    • Work Knowledge of client disciplines – Metallurgy, Mining, Engineering
    • Ability to Plan maintenance or production activities
    • Must have an understanding of budgets
    • Computer literate in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook

    Process Supervisor C2

    Job Description
    The Process Supervisor fulfills a shift role of which physically ensures that a number of processes are operational, controlled and maintained in the section/area. This position is also responsible for the effective operation and control of the production process by monitoring the SCADA systems and to ensure that all production readings are within prescribed limits from the control loom and its functions during a shift.

    Your key responsibilities will include:

    • Changing tasks and machine settings within standards on the shift to minimize the effect of unexpected problems

    Senior Engineer Reliability

    Job Description
     

    • Facilitate team site establishment and on-boarding – full compliance to standards and regulations
    • Coordinate safe plant access, risk assessments and permits with Production and Maintenance
    • Represent the Project in all stakeholder forums on site
    • Execution and integration of all project’s activities on site
    • Ensuring a single standard of design, kit, roll out and implementation for sites they are responsible for
    • Dispute resolution between plant stakeholders and project execution teams – escalate to Snr Engineering Manager/AS&R Lead as required
    • Track progress and update project schedules
    • Day to day review of risk to scope, budget, schedule and pay off (benefits) – escalate major risk as required (Exception reporting and short cycle escalation when required)
    • Change management activities - Coordinate commissioning and handover with Plant stakeholders
    • Witness tests and sign off commissioning sheets
    • Integrate projects to ongoing operations, systems and routines, e.g. ‒ Work management and routines ‒ Spares coding and stock ‒ Systems e.g. SAP PM ‒ Change and Risk management ‒ Training & development
    • Measure and track project metrics and benefits as per criteria
    • Socialise the project on site, and entrench the required culture underpinning the technology within the workforce and stakeholders
       

    Qualifications

    • NQF level 8 qualification – BSc or BEng Engineering Degree (Mech, Elec, Industrial, Process, Chemical) and GCC or MSc Degree (Engineering or Process)
    • Additional qualifications in Asset and Project Management, preferably PMP
       

    Technical Skills

    • Demonstrated Business Acumen
    • Advanced level computer literacy: MS Office Excel / Word / PowerPoint) / Visio / MS Projects
    • Strong ERP Competencies in the Engineering, Costing, Material Management, Data Warehousing and Projects Modules
    • Excellent Data Management skills
    • Excellent analytical skills (Data Mining / Data Interpretation (Translate results into actions)
    • Accomplished in a broad range of technical skills relating to the engineering discipline
    • Working knowledge of client disciplines – Mining, Engineering
    • Valid driving license code 08

    • Skilled in Root Cause Analysis Causal method
