Description

• Design and Schedule 3year production budget Plans.
• Design mining layouts, development ends, stopes, and infrastructure using Studio UG.
• Create and update production schedules in EPS to meet mining targets and resource availability. (Monthly Roling Plan)
• Ensure plans comply with geotechnical, ventilation, safety, and operational requirements.
• Monitor actual mining progress against plan and identify variances.
• Adjust schedules and designs to accommodate changing conditions underground.
• Coordinate with geology, survey, ventilation, engineering, and operations teams.
• Calculate and report production forecasts, tonnes, grades, and equipment requirements.
• Optimize mining sequences to maximize ore recovery and operational efficiency.
• Produce mine planning reports, schedules, and presentation materials for management.
• Monitor daily production bookings and send reports to management.

Requirements

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate)
• Mining Engineering degree, Advanced Survey or Certificate in MRM / Planning will be advantageous
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a metalliferous mining environment in a planning role.
• Proficient in Studio UG/EPS
• Experience with Mineware Production booking system
• Proficient in Microsoft office package
• Valid Certificate of physical fitness
• Driver’s license with own transport

• Providing meaningful input during planning and risk assessments
• Investigating underground instability issues and rock related incidents
• Recommending on the safety and productivity of the mining environment
• Adherence to strata control practices and principles
• Adherence to standardisation requirements, policies, procedures and operating standards related to strata control services and support
• Resolving or escalating operational strata control related queries or breakdowns declared
• Reviewing and analysing effectiveness of operational strata control processes
• Reviewing strata control data and information
• Participating in the identification of defects and improvement opportunities
• Successful teamwork and collaboration with stakeholders
• Adherence to organisational and legislative safety requirements

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate with mathematics and science
• Chamber of Mines Strata Control Certificate a critical requirement
• A Blasting certificate and mining experience would be beneficial
• Mining relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. B-Tech or BSc) would be an advantage
• Minimum 5 years Rock Engineering experience within a metalliferous / massive mining environment.
• Studies towards Certificate in Rock Mechanics will be advantageous
• Numerical Modelling proficiency
• Ability to communicate with people on different levels
• Excellent report writing ability
• Proficient in Microsoft office package
• Valid Certificate of physical fitness
• Drivers license with own transport would be a benefit

• 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Fibre Splicing knowledge
• Network maintenance and implementation knowledge
• 2 years telephone systems experience
• 2 years CCTV installation experience, preferably with Hikvision technologies
