YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify new and existing formulations and technologies for improved performance and/or cost reduction
• Prepare samples for testing, such as stability, efficacy, or safety
• Identify process improvements with regard to routine lab testing
• Effectively use project management techniques to drive projects to completion
• Prepare specifications for raw materials and formulation
• Raw material evaluation.
• Provide technical support to Tolling sites
• Assist with the preparation of presentations to business, customers/end-users/trade conferences
• Assist with Non-conformance investigations when required
• Document management on developed formulations
• Lab equipment maintenance and repairs 
• Perform Ad hoc tasks as assigned
• Comply with governance & compliance policies and procedures
•  Comply with Safety, Health, Quality and Environment standards

YOUR PROFILE

Qualification and expertise required

• Matric / Grade 12.
• National Diploma in Chemistry or related field.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in R&D
• Experience in Chemical & Coatings industry preferred
• Sound report writing skills
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Strategically manage a portfolio of Non branded food ingredients sold into the food and other sectors
To ensure reliable and competitive supply of products for target markets
Identify new opportunities in the market in partnership with suppliers

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Market knowledge and strategy development
• Sourcing and Costing
• Execute supplier approval and vendor rating
• Negotiate (budget) volumes, price, contracts
• Implement pricing strategies
• Increasing exclusive supplier business
• Reporting - internally and to principles
• Identifying new suppliers for potential strategic products
• Training of sales department
• Optimize stocks and manage slow movers/obsolete stocks
• Support procurement department  - forecasts to sales team
• Handle major complaints and claims
• Maintain Good Housekeeping Practices in your area of responsibility.
• Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures & Policies at all times.
• Adhere to company Health and Safety procedures and report any incidents to the Health and Safety Representative in your department, or the site Safety Officer.

YOUR PROFILE

Qualifications and expertise required

• Matric
• Tertiary qualification in commercial field/sciences 
• Tertiary qualification in Food Sciences advantageous
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in a Marketing and Sales function that includes managing complex and or significant customer relationships and key accounts ( Food/Pharma/Chemical/Animal Nutrition industries)
• SAP experience advantageous
• Experience with CRM and MS Office
• Must have a sound understanding of pricing structures
• Ability to understand the complete commercial pipelines and resolve issues in area of responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of import / export, regulatory and logistics management
• Able to work effectively cross-functionally and with other business units functional areas to achieve company-wide objectives.
