THE POSITION/JOB:

• Interaction with Technicians and Engineers from Eskom and local supply authority
• Testing and correcting all distribution related protection settings
• Ensure that preventative and condition based monitoring is done regularly and corrective actions are taken
• Perform/ensure that all work done is in compliance with the company standards, procedures, regulations, safety and quality requirements
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of Electrical Distribution equipment like cables, switchgear and transformers.
• Provide guidance and advice on electrical standards
• Issue COC’s on new and existing equipment

Requirements

THE PERSON MUST:

• Be in possession of a National Diploma in Electrical Heavy Current and a Management qualification
• Have a trade with COC
• Be able to cope with high levels of stress
• Provide technical support to direct team as well as support to manufacturing plant areas and related facilities in the plant
• Be a strong team player and have excellent communication skills
• Be able to pay attention to detail
• Be physically fit and not afraid of confined spaces and heights
• Be willing to work overtime and do standby

• This is an all-inclusive bursary offered to talented individuals who are planning to study full-time towards an undergraduate degree, to pursue Mechanical  Engineering qualification for applicants locally.

Requirements

• Bursary Opportunity: You need to be in grade 12 in 2023;
• You need to have a good Academic record with a minimum Acacemic average of 70%;
• You need to be provisionally accepted for the chosen undergrad B.Eng./B.Sc. (4 year) Degree in Mechanical Engineering at a reputable university  (UP, Wits, NWU, UCT. etc.), (no diplomas), for full-time studies, in 2024;
• You need to be a South African citizen;
• You need to reside in Middelburg/Witbank.
