    Technical Sales Representative

    • As Technical sales representative you will be responsible for being a member of the Southern African sales team based in the Western Cape, with responsibilities that may extend to the Northern Cape and/or Eastern Cape.

    You Will Be Part of Growing Team

    • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be required to support the commercial team to achieve financial goals and maximise product sales by providing high quality service in your territory. All product training is provided. There will be a lot of travel in the role, with nights away.

    Your Challenge

    • supporting sales of existing products;
    • providing high quality technical product information and training;
    • execute company and territory strategic plan and distribution strategy;
    • implementing marketing plans;
    • monthly product forecasting;
    • attendance at key industry field days and study groups;
    • participation in product portfolio management teams;
    • assisting the national team launch new products over the next couple of years.

    Qualifications

    • Postgraduate qualification in Agricultural Science or similar
    • Three to five years' experience in crop protection related business
    • Sound understanding of agricultural farming systems
    • Some sales experience
    • Good communication and relationship development skills

    Maintenance Technician

    As a Millwright you will be responsible for:

    • All maintenance and associated maintenance functions within our production facility

    The intent of this role include:

    • All maintenance activities in our production facility including but not limited to:
    • Maintenance, service, and repair work of all process equipment
    • Installation and deinstallation of machinery
    • Commissioning & decommissioning of industrial machinery/installations.
    • Diagnostic testing and faultfinding
    • Routine inspections, Preventative, and scheduled maintenance
    • Lube services
    • Building maintenance and Plumbing
    • Accurate reporting on CMMS, and RCA on problematic equipment
    • You will be part of a functional team and must be able to work independent

    • 24/7 Process operation – Maintenance Standby
    • Short-term shutdown Periods
    • May provide functional guidance and supervision to assigned semi-skilled workers.

    Qualifications

    • Millwright Red Seal Trade certificate
    • Five years post qualification experience
    • Electrical or Mechanical diploma will be advantages.
    • Wireman’s License will be advantages
    • Registered gas practitioner will be advantages
    • Good interactive people skills
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Windows platform, Maintenance programs)
    • Valid driver’s license Required

    Research Associate

    • You will be part of a team that is building the future of agriculture – leading breakthroughs in the innovation and application of science and technology. In this role, you will use your research/agricultural experience to serve as a team member in the Phenotyping team to conduct planning, planting, data collection and harvesting of Research phenotyping activities for Maize, Soy and Sunflower in the West of South Africa

    • Research and Development

    Your Challenge:

    • Responsibility to ensure all phenotyping activities are executed at assigned trial locations; from cooperator sourcing, seed preparation, planting, crop maintenance, data collection (including UAV/drones) and harvesting
    • Works as part of a team to plan and execute experiments/trials efficiently and accurately within seasonal deadlines
    • Responsible for day to day maintenance of research field equipment including combines, planters and tractors
    • Interact within all programs at the station with a mindset focused on continuous improvement
    • Participate in improvement of safety programs and protocols (safety, efficiency, effectiveness) specific to direct work environment to identify and communicate potential risks and benefits
    • Complete personal development activities as part of a performance management and development plan

    Key Stakeholders and Interactions:

    • Serve as a team member in the Western Phenotyping team

    Qualifications

    To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or Diploma in scientific related field or 1-2 years industry related experience required
    • Strong background in agronomy
    • Proven ability to make timely decisions, solve problems and build consensus
    • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people
    • Ability to supervise and prioritize multiple tasks is critical
    • Technical and mechanical skills is a must for maintenance of agricultural equipment, to ensure excellent condition and safety of equipment and vehicles at any time.
    • Experience in GPS systems on agricultural equipment
    • Experience with UAV/drone applications in agriculture will be beneficial
    • Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation software.
    • Always comply with safety regulations and country laws, lead in way which will inspire all team members and follow the example
    • High workload with long hours, regular travelling, and weekend work during seasonal peaks
    • Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
    • Valid driver’s license is required, Code 14 will be a bonus
