    Senior Manager: Actuarial and Insurance Solutions - External Delivery Team (EDT)

    Job Description

    Main Purpose of Job:

    • We are looking for an Actuarial Senior Manager with Life Insurance experience to join the External Delivery Team (EDT) to support the Leadership Team in the delivery of services to UK clients.

    The role provides an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of technical issues by delivering on a wide variety of projects within the EDT. These include but are not limited to: 

    • Reserving, and capital modelling 
    • IFRS 17, Solvency II and other regulatory projects 
    • Large scale projects to transform insurer’s financial, actuarial, and reporting processes 
    • Actuarial specialist work on external audits of a wide range of insurers 
    • Due Diligence and support for a variety of insurer Corporate Transactions 
    • Model validation work 

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications      

    • Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa or equivalent – Manager / Senior Manager
    • Associate Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa or equivalent – Senior Analyst / Assistant Manager

    Minimum Experience           

    • Minimum 8-10 years working experience
    • 5 years leadership/team management experience
    • Significant experience in Life Insurance domain
    • Experience in IFRS17 is preferred
    • Strong analytical and modelling capabilities
    • Actuarial valuation experience  
    • Experience of capital and solvency calculations, reserving and reinsurance will be advantageous

    • Actuarial valuation experience

    Manager - Environmental, Social & Governance Reporting and Assurance

    About the Job

    Job Description

    • To support the Partner in delivery and management of external sustainability assurance and reporting engagements to / at client premises in accordance with the firm’s methodologies and practices through building client relationships and effective team management.
    • To support the business area leadership in the execution of the sustainability assurance and reporting strategy through identification of leads, preparation and presentation of proposals and other related business development matters.

    Experience:

    • 3+ years of progressive experience with role(s) in a professional, consulting services (including Boutique Security Firm), public and/or private sector organizations is required.
    • Atleast two years of those being exposed to industrial processes and or plant environment
    • Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or proven record of success designing and implementing security solutions for industrial control Systems (ICS) in critical infrastructure and/or manufacturing sectors, such as power and utilities, oil & gas, chemical, and consumer products manufacturing.
    • Possess an understanding of ICS/OT fundamentals, including but not limited to:
    • Understanding of Distributed control systems (DCS) and supervisory control & data acquisition (SCADA), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and related architectures and components.
    • Understanding of Network and communication protocols common in OT/ICS environments.
    • Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
    • Understanding of ICS design considerations with emphasis on human/environmental safety, availability/reliability and security of the operational environment.
    • Understanding and Knowledge of leading IT and OT security practices and IT/OT convergence principles and secure data exchange techniques; and,
    • Preparation and maintenance of policies, procedures and standards governing operations for ICS systems and networks.

    • NIST Cyber Security Framework for Critical Infrastructures (CSF)
    • NIST SP-800-82 and SP-800-53
    • ISO/IEC 27001/2
    • ISA 95/ Purdue Functional Model for Operational Technology
