    Chief Technician: New Metering & Electrical Installations - ENER19992

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma (N/T/S) Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) / NQF 6 Qualification
    • 3 Phase Tester (Wireman’s License)
    • Knowledge of Municipal Electrical Distribution Network and Metering
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • 3 years’ experience in similar environment

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Manage the new metering and electrical installation subsection to ensure that it performs efficiently, effectively and productively
    • Ensure that all new equal to or below 100A 3phase service connection and all electrical installations comply with OHS Act and related regulations
    • Manage the compliance of Electrical Installation in terms of Electrical Installation Regulations
    • Implement revenue protection measures to maximise income for Council as guided by metering policies
    • Implement customer technical education services initiatives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
    • Manage small revenue based capital budget allocations of the specific area of responsibility
