    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

    • This position aims to ensure contract adherence in terms of client relations, operational performance, commercial and financial performance, people management and development and continual improvement initiatives.
    • The role needs to ensure operations are managed in accordance with the DSV standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure that the DSV strategy, goals and initiatives are cascaded down through the organization into the various areas of the operation.     DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Ford Operations:  

    • Full accountability and leadership on all aspects of the Ford Silverton operations in Gauteng,  
    • Accountable for all initiatives implemented across these operations, including potential new scope. Meeting of all customer SLAs.; Compliance of sites to DSV standards; SHERQ – achieve minimum requirements; 
    • Implement and maintain Quality Management System at all departments. 
    • Be involved in unlocking synergies within operations to improve competitiveness of solution; Drive synergies with other DSV business units, where possible, to improve operational performance.  

    Client Relationships:   

    • Ensuring client’s needs and expectations are consistently met within scope of the SLA.  
    • Client interaction and issue resolution to ensure client satisfaction.  
    • Structured management reviews to review performance and discuss strategic initiatives.  

    Commercial / Financial:  

    • Thorough understanding and application of contract and service level agreement to achieve account stability and profitability.  
    • Responsible for P&L and Accounting queries for Operations  
    • Claims resolution, investigate and understand claim details per incident, report internally and negotiate and process compensation when valid.

    • Drive operational efficiency within the inbound function.
    • Ensure effective communication between receiving, inventory, planning, and operational teams.

    Inventory Management:

    • Proactively control risks associated with inventory.
    • Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained through robust inventory control processes.
    • Manage system-to-system inventory alignment between client systems and WMS.
    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through structured root cause analysis.
    • Plan and execute cycle counts, wall-to-wall stock counts, ABC counts, and customer-specific inventory programmes.
    • Control quarantined, damaged, blocked, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.
    • Ensure inventory transactions are executed accurately and timeously.
    • Ensure virtual locations and suspense locations are managed and maintained within agreed ageing parameters.
    • Maintain audit readiness at all times.

    Operational Compliance and Continuous Improvement:

    • Ensure adherence to all operational SOPs and work instructions.
    • Monitor and drive compliance to quality standards and operational controls.
    • Ensure all inventory and inbound processes comply with customer and DSV requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and drive corrective actions.
    • Support process and system enhancement initiatives.
    • Ensure effective housekeeping standards are maintained throughout inbound and inventory areas.
    • Ensure operational risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated.

    Audits and Governance:

    • Manage internal, external, and client inventory audits.
    • Ensure audit findings are investigated and corrective actions implemented.
    • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with all stock control and governance requirements.
    • Support annual stock counts and customer audit programmes.

    People Management:

    • Ensure subordinates have clear roles and responsibilities.
    • Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders, Inventory Controllers, and administrative personnel.
    • Manage employee performance through regular reviews and performance discussions.
    • Ensure staff are adequately trained and multi-skilled.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage employee relations matters in accordance with company policy.
    • Ensure appropriate succession planning and talent development within the department.

    Business Development Manager, Air and Sea

    Main Purpose of The Role:

    • dentify and pursue new Air & Sea freight opportunities within target industries and trade lanes
    • Develop and execute new business sales plans to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets
    • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and referrals
    • Lead customer negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract finalisation
    • Drive cross-selling opportunities across DSV’s broader service offerings where applicable

    Customer & Account Management

    • Establish trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
    • Understand customer supply chain needs and propose tailored logistics solutions
    • Ensure smooth onboarding and handover to operations, maintaining service excellence
    • Proactively manage customer performance, retention, and growth opportunities

    Market & Strategic Insight

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within Air & Sea freight
    • Contribute to sales strategy and vertical-specific initiatives
    • Provide accurate revenue forecasting and reporting through CRM and internal tools

    Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with Operations, Pricing, Customer Service, and Finance to deliver competitive and compliant solutions
    • Ensure adherence to DSV policies, governance, and ethical sales practices

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • New business revenue and gross profit
    • Customer acquisition and pipeline conversion
    • Margin quality and yield
    • Retention of newly acquired customers

    Sales Representative

    Main purpose of the role:

    • To deliver a new business number in line with the targets set out by the organization

    Duties and responsibilities: 

    • Build a pipeline of Clients that Fit DSV’s  Ideal Client profile and Vertical approach
    • Manage an effective diary to ensure that productivity stats are achieved
    • Deliver Revenue Results as set out in the Sales Targets
