    Content Processing Senior Specialist

    Purpose of the Position:

    • To ensure that the content processing department delivers high quality standard content to linear playout, VOD catalogues and Showmax that are 100% full and up to date all times
    • To ensure that content receipted by the facility is done so timeously
    • To ensure that workflows are defined across the broadcast value chain and ready for use as input across the spectrum of video services offered by MultiChoice
    • To lead content processing (Linear, Explora Catchup, OTT and Showmax) projects and ensure effective and efficient daily operations

    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    • Operational Delivery and Process Implementation
    • Continuously ensure operational improvements, working with the Senior Manager, Content Processing and other critical stakeholders to ensure successful and timeous delivery relating to all customer requirements and deadlines  
    • Identify trends in the Content Processing environment and effectively communicate to relevant stakeholders
    • Put measures in place to ensure that all content is processed on arrival without delay
    • Stringently ensure content security
    • Regularly engage and consult with system engineers in order to continuously improve operational processes and technical infrastructure
    • Proactively communicate and respond to any potential delays in the content operations processes
    • Manage any new developments impacting the performance of local and international content processing operations
    • Manage accurate preparation of content and resolving ongoing matters
    • Responsible to forecast and budget for departmental projects
    • Manage departmental expenditure and ensure 10% saving for every financial term

    Documentation and Quality Control 

    • Draft and maintain operations documentation related to sub-department operations  
    • Provide and Manage pre-quality checks of content
    • Achieve an ongoing reduction of errors and resolve any reported errors
    • Uphold the required content delivery standards.
    • Ensure compliance with SLA’s, OLA’s and Studio Rights Grids
    • Improve ways of working to ensure that teems meet relevant SLA’s and OLA’s by improving the ways of working.
    • Ensure targets are met with regard to project implementation, review and improvement
    • Embed company policies, procedures and processes that affect service delivery

    Stakeholder Management

    • Ensure effective ingest capacity management, analysis, planning and infrastructure expansion in relation to current and future stakeholder content requirements
    • Manage stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the business unit’s objectives
    • Manage streamlining processes between Content Operations, On-Air and Traffic teams
    • Monitor product category by ensuring overall service delivery is at an operational level agreed upon
    • Ensure that incidents are managed in collaboration with first Line operational support, Engineering, Connected Video and Irdeto, within priority and severity times to resolve standards or agreements
    • Effectively coordinate team to resolve customer queries
    • Ensure that all stakeholders (Internal & external) are fully informed of problems or incidents affecting the value chain and ultimately the effective delivery of quality service
    • Client/stakeholder engagement to ensure that current and future needs are met
    • Manage risks for the team’s portfolio of services offered
    • Provide input into the establishment, maintenance and management of SLA’s and OLA’s with supported business units

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Systems/Information Technology/Electronics
    • Equivalent Degree/NQF Level 7 qualification in management

    Experience

    • A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in broadcasting or similar position
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in management
    • An understanding of broadcasting workflows and systems such as Synergy, CDN, CMS, Elemental, Ardome, VizOne, Vantage, VizConnect, Share Point and Media Manager, would be an advantage
    • Strong skills in a technical and operational project environment and demonstrable attention to detail.
    • Good technical knowledge of associated technologies and processes

    Engineer: VOD

    Purpose of the Position

    • To implement and provide guidance on all the VOD technical requirements and maintenance.  

    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    Operational Deliver

    • Provide input in the creative design and implementation of new technology and system changes
    • Provide solutions to minimize/negate impact of technical problems impacting the delivery of content within the VOD value chain.
    • Ensure Implementation and support of new VOD technologies
    • Provide input into the investigation of VOD technology equipment functionality, capacity and capabilities for future growth.
    • Manage a workflow disaster recovery process.
    • Assess operational risks and anticipate future customer needs.
    • Provide technical support in an environment that functions 24/7
    • Provide input or advice on systems maintenance and setup.
    • Provide input into systems maintenance budget.
    • Monitor the VOD automation system and report on problems and attempt possible short term fixes
    • Manage software updates and installations
    • Provide weekly statistics as well as incident reports to Head of VOD Operations

    Stakeholder Management and Benchmarking

    • Pick up trends in the environment and effectively communicate trends to relevant stakeholders,
    • Provide feedback on deliverables through appropriate communication channels and technical report writing
    • Stay abreast of latest technology that has the potential to impact the VOD and linear broadcast environments.

    Qualifications

    A Diploma in IT or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 3 - 5 years working experience supporting and maintaining a technical VOD environment
    • Proven track record of fault finding and troubleshooting in a complex technical environment
    • Experience in Linear Broadcast and/or VOD delivery value chain
    • Understanding of the VOD value chain and systems knowledge relating to file based workflows
    • Understanding of audio, video file based workflows and knowledge of encoding technologies
    • Understanding of SD, HD and UHD technology
    • Administration of Linux servers (minimum 3 years)
    • Network and storage administration, configuration and fault diagnostic knowledge
    • Experience with virtualization technologies
    • Experience in creating high availability systems
    • Experience with micro-services and container orchestration
    • Scripting knowledge in BASH or Phyton (advantageous)
    • Understanding and implementation of Cloud technologies (advantageous)

    Senior Specialist – Defensive Systems

    Purpose of the Position:

    To assist to develop and implement security incident monitoring and forensics management, forensics across Video Entertainment. To take a proactive approach to managing system risks and creating mitigation plans to deter future risks

    Key Performance Objectives

    Incident Management

    • Assist the management team in drafting a strategic direction for the function while ensuring that this direction is aligned with that of the CISO.
    • Expand and mature existing incident response processes and activities
    • Development and maturity of Detection capabilities by leveraging off of the SIEM, Network Behaviour Anomaly Detection and Endpoint Detection
    • Plan, design and implement an overall security management process for the function.

    The process includes: detection, triage, analysis, containment, recovery and reporting

    • Innovate solutions by Investigating and implementing AI solutions to have better capability within the function.
    • Mature the network access control initiatives as deemed necessary by management.
    • Act as the lead for security incidents and breaches as per the defined processes.
    • Improve ability to minimise and prevent further incidents by accurate documentation and post analysis of all system incidents. Forensics and Breach Management
    • Assist by leading the incident response process and execution including unauthorized access, security policy violations and Data Loss Incidents
    • Manage and execute processes responsible for the advanced analysis of security threat intelligence (malicious code, hackers and zero-day exploits, etc.) in order to proactively prepare for security events. Develop communication channels with the business units to ensure solid incident response and risk assessment processes
    • Ensure continuous testing of all breach management processes
    • Conduct red and blue team exercises as directed by management

    People Management

    • Manage specialists and external Consultants team to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives.
    • Assist the manager to ensure a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.

    • Coach and mentor junior practitioners within the defensive systems field in principles and processes

    Qualifications

    • Degree (NQF 7) in Security/Information Technology/ OR equivalent
    • Certification required – CISSP and CISM
       

    Experience

    • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in an Information Security environment with specific focus on working with security incident and event management
    • Forensics and breach management experience is critical
    • A proven track record of experience in the IT and Information Security Industry is critical.
    • Understanding the influence of service support services on successful service delivery is critical.
    • Proven knowledge and experience in the Technology Operations Environment will be an advantage.
    • Project Management experience is an advantage.
