Job Description:

• We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Logistics and Operations Manager.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, transportation, and distribution of our industrial weighing equipment.
• The Logistics Manager will work closely with various departments within the company to ensure that products are delivered to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

Fleet & technician scheduling:

• Scheduling fleet and technicians according to projects
• Collaborate with fleet controller on service and maintenance of fleet
• Update and maintain fleet and technician schedule according to operational requirements
• Liaise with the health and safety department to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and technician training
• Liaise with different departments on scheduling and projects
• Manage drivers and allowances according to operational requirements

Other responsibilities:

• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs
• Prepare and analyze logistics reports to identify areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards
• Assist management with client report compilation and presentation

Minimum requirements:

• Qualification in logistics, business management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management
• Strong knowledge of transportation and distribution processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

About the Role

• We are seeking a Fleet Controller with a mechanical background to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our vehicle fleet. This role focuses primarily on fleet management, ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal condition and compliant with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated buyer within the mining industry.

Experience:

• The successful incumbent must have at least three to five (3-5) year's experience within a buying or procurement role.
• Experience within the mining industry will be highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Procurement and Purchasing

• Source and procure mining equipment, spare parts, consumables, fuels, chemicals, PPE, and services required for mining operations.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, tenders, and proposals.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate processing within the procurement system.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and service agreements to achieve optimal value.
• Ensure the timely placement of orders to prevent operational disruptions.

Supplier Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and service providers.
• Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Participate in supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews.
• Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and contract disputes.

Inventory and Stock Control Support

• Work closely with stores and warehouse personnel to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Monitor stock availability and reorder critical items to support uninterrupted mining operations.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and excess stock and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operational departments to forecast procurement requirements.

Cost Management and Budget Control

• Track commodity and market trends that may impact procurement costs.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and procurement planning processes.

Contract Administration

• Assist in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of supplier contracts.
• Ensure contracts are adhered to by both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor contract expiry dates and facilitate renewals where required.
• Maintain accurate contract records and documentation.

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, mining legislation, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain ethical procurement practices and avoid conflicts of interest.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate procurement records.
• Ensure compliance with BBBEE, local supplier development, and other applicable procurement requirements where relevant.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, and project teams to understand procurement needs.
• Provide procurement advice and support to internal customers.
• Communicate order status, delivery schedules, and supply risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in resolving urgent operational procurement requirements.

Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
• Generate procurement reports relating to expenditure, supplier performance, savings, and purchasing activities.
• Ensure all procurement transactions are correctly recorded and authorized.
• Analyse purchasing data to support strategic decision-making.

Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks that may impact mining operations.
• Develop alternative sourcing options for critical goods and services.
• Monitor supplier financial stability and operational capability.
• Participate in business continuity and emergency procurement planning.

Skills required for the job:

• Must have experience working in the mining, drilling, and exploration industries.
• Must have round the hole and exploration drilling experience/knowledge.
• Candidate must be able to obtain competitive quotations from suppliers, negotiate prices, place orders, and arrange couriers and collections to ensure that all required items are delivered on time.
• Knowledge of mining equipment.
• Good negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy, including email, Excel, and purchasing systems.
• Experience arranging couriers, collections, and transport.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and follow up on deliveries.
• Source suppliers for mining equipment, exploration drilling equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
• Purchase mechanical parts, tools and equipment for servicing and repairing of motor vehicles.
