    Account Manager

    Purpose of Job

    • To account manage clients of the agency, ensuring the delivery on contractual obligations and continued relationship with clients.
    • In this role you will work on a variety of clients across all marketing and communication channels. This position encompasses the overall management of accounts across various disciplines including strategic consulting, digital marketing, internal communication, public relations, design, branding, direct marketing and social media.
    • You will need to be smart and enjoy creating solutions for the problems our clients look to us to solve. This involves working hard, thinking creatively, taking initiative, monitoring your work and always looking at how you can do it better.

    You need to be able to:

    • Understand complex business problems and apply strategic and design thinking to them
    • Consult to clients and advise them on the correct brand, communication and channel solutions for their unique businesses
    • Inspire the digital and creative teams to conceptualise and execute world-class work
    • Have an amazing knowledge of integrated campaigns across:
    • Digital marketing
    • Social media marketing
    • Branding
    • Public relations
    • Direct marketing
    • Internal communication
    • Work across the business – with development, design, management, suppliers and clients

    • Qualified in marketing or communication
    • Experienced in account management and have been working in an agency for at least 5 years
    • Sensitive to the commercial aspect of business and can keep projects on budget and within deadline

    Primary duties and responsibilities

    • Management of key agency accounts, from strategy to implementation
    • Management of client relationships
    • Briefing, communication and expectation management
    • Status reporting
    • Development of campaign plans, strategies and implementation of calendars
    • Management, co-ordination and implementation of account deliverables
    • Reporting on clients, campaign deliverables and preparation of account status reports
    • Campaign management, implementation and reporting across digital, social media, direct, PR and internal campaigns
    • Identify new business opportunities within existing client accounts
    • Brief the creative and digital teams on campaigns, prepare creative reviews and provide creative direction
    • Pro-active identification of campaign ideas, concepts, industry trends and opportunities
    • Management and reporting on client deliverables and agency contractual obligations, including time sheets, monthly reports, status reports, etc.
    • Manage deadlines and deliverables – both internally and externally
    • Financial co-ordination of clients and suppliers ensuring correct quotes, billings with admin/finance, assisting with payment follow up (when required), etc.
    • Clear understanding of through-the-line solutions offered by the agency and how they can be applied to meet client requirements and their business objectives
    • Ensure clients are getting the best results from the agency and that there are adequate resources allocated towards profitable delivery of projects
    • Ensure that your direct line manager is kept up to date and abreast of all projects and work status
    • A good wholistic view of client accounts and how specific initiatives will impact on overall goals is imperative
    • A mature and accountable outlook toward the execution of project deliverables is a non-negotiable

    • Tertiary qualification
    • Broad computer skills
    • Understanding/knowledge of Magnetic and Everlytic (a plus)
    • Experience in managing high-profile clients and/or large projects (a plus)

    Client Services Intern

    Purpose of Job

    • The client service intern will be responsible for making sales calls, running appointments, and cultivating client relationships in a high-energy work environment with creative professionals. The intern in this position needs to be able to work with many different kinds of people and be able to adapt to a lot of different situations.

    The intern will learn and be exposed to:

    • Real world knowledge of working with clients and managing accounts
    • Hands-on strategising, planning and execution of campaigns that include digital marketing, direct marketing, social media, advertising, internal communication, and PR
    • Creative campaign development and execution
    • Participation in staff and client meetings

    Responsibilities:

    • Research different industries
    • Assist in brainstorming and idea planning
    • Participate in client meetings
    • Assist with admin
    • Assist with campaign execution across digital marketing, direct marketing, social media, advertising, internal communication, and public relations
    • Delivery on all tasks that are required by employees in the agency
    • To assist different people in different departments within the agency
    • Assist with general office management to ensure that the office is well stocked in supplies and stationery
    • To assist with client meetings, logistical arrangements and co-ordination

    Schedule and compensation:

    • Minimum 20 hours of work per week around intern’s schedule during the academic year, and up to 40 hours of work per week
    • R5 500 per month on a cost-to-company basis
    • Upon successful completion of the 6-month internship programme, the intern will be eligible for a R5 000 bonus payment
    • Upon successful completion of the internship programme, the candidate will be considered for permanent employment within the agency, should there be a vacant position

    Requirements for the internship programme

    • Completed or studying towards a Communication or Marketing degree or similar
    • Willingness to learn and be a team player
    • Dependable and willing to complete the entire 6-month internship programme
