    Youth Workers: Sondeza Afri –Youth Camp: 2026

    Stipend:

    • R1 500 & cell phone airtime. Free accommodation, excursions & meals will be provided.
    • Opportunity for: 11 Youth Workers . (4 Male + 7 Female), 22 to 28 years old Attendance of camp: 2 – 11 December 2026 at Ganzekraal on the West Coast
    • Attendance of compulsory Training: 13 – 14 November 2026 in Malmesbury

    Job description:

    • To provide supervision and manage youth during the 10-day camp

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 qualification with experience in youth work after Grade 12.
    • Between the ages of 22 and 28.
    • Must be a South African citizen.
    • Provide own transport to Malmesbury for the training on 13 & 14/11/2026.
    • Physically medium fitness level required.
    • Speak, read and write English fluently.
    • Previous attendance of Sondeza youth camps will be a recommendation.

    Skills recommended:

    • Leadership, responsibility, interpersonal skills, Co-ordination and taking control of groups, adaptability on short notice, administrative skills, facilitating skills, reliability and performance of duties.
    • Degree or Diploma in Education, Social Science or youth work.
    • Previous involvement with youth development and/or community projects.

    Firefighter

    • Salary: R 249 480 – R 323 808 per annum(T-08 of a Category4 Local Authority)

    Director: Electrical Engineering Services (DE 2/26)

    • Salary Scale: R1 419 621 – R1 453 692 – R1 488 580 – R1 524 306 – R1 560 890 per annum – Total Cost of Employment, in terms of Upper Limit notice of 14 April 2026 (Category 4 municipality) or as applicable at date of appointment
    • The successful candidate will be employed permanently.
    • The core functions of the successful incumbent shall be: Electrical Operations, Maintenance and Construction; Electrical Design and Planning; Information Management; Strategic Management; Financial Management and Human Resource Management.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering / Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent – NQF 8.
    • A minimum of seven years relevant experience at senior and middle management level of which at least two years must be at senior management level or as programme/project manager and have proven successful institutional transformation within public or
    • private sector. Three to four years must be at professional/management level engineering management experience.
    • Eligible for registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as Professional Engineer (Electrical) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Electrical). Registration must be confirmed within 18 months from the date of appointment.
    • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) as required in terms of the General Machinery Regulations, 1988.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant policy and legislation and a good understanding of institutional governance systems and performance management.
    • Extensive knowledge of the public office environment.
    • Must be able to formulate engineering master planning, project management and implementation.

    Understanding of council operations and delegation of powers, as well as

    • Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management Regulations and the Framework for Preferred

    • Recommended: Certificate in Municipal Finance Management (SAQA qualification ID 48965) as prescribed in Regulation 493 dated 15 June 2007 to be attained within 18 months from the date of appointment.
    • Competency areas for senior managers in municipalities in terms of the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels issued in terms of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003: Strategic leadership and management, strategic financial management, operational financial management, governance, ethics and values in financial management, financial and performance reporting, risk and change management, project management, legislation, policy and implementation, stakeholder relations, supply chain management, audit and assurance.
    • Computer skills.
    • Excellent facilitation and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
    • South African Citizen.
    • A valid Code B driver’s license.
    • Own transport.
