    Production Planner

    The Role

    • Truworths is seeking an experienced Production Planner for the Truworths Manufacturing division.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES

    • Demonstrates an understanding of the merchandise related computer system Sync.    
    • Challenges the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and proposes modifications.      
    • "Effectively and efficiently assists when required with:
      • Raising, amending and approving product PO's;
      • Allocating of fabrics to be cut per job;
      • Loading and amending of contracts and orders;
      • Creating new jobs/cost cards;
      • Fixing line items in Bill of Material."      

    2. PRE-PRODUCTION

    • Ensure accurate maintenance of production board, including aligning Sync with board on an on-going basis and overseeing the Data Capturer.
    • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines and operates effectively underpressurised time constraints.                                                          

    "Sample co-ordination:

    Planning:

    • Capacity planning and monitoring;
    • CMT communication;
    • Fabric delivery monitoring;
    • Replanning pull forwards, roll out sand extensions;
    • Driving of production meetings.”

    3. GENERAL ADMINSTRATION

    • Ensure consistent approach is used across department for admin.                                            
    • Maintain a neat and efficient workstation and filing system.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience as a clothing production planner
    • Worked as a production planner for an established clothing manufacturer either in a design ware house or factory.
    • A solid working knowledge of fabric and trims procurement and supply chain management.
    • A solid working knowledge of manufacturing critical path management
    • Strong organizational ability and able to coordinate demand vs capacity planning
    • Ability to work well under pressure and to work both independently and within a team environment
    • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
    • Goal and results driven with clear leadership strengths.
    • Computer literate with above average excel experience and knowledge.

    Other:

    • Preferable a diploma in Clothing production management or similar or Bcom degree
    • Work experience in an ERP system or similar enterprise resource planning systems

    Planner

    Planner

    • Based at our Head Office in Cape Town, this position will appeal to a skilled performer who likes to be close to the action. Drawing on your well-honed fashion planning skills, your role will be to develop, implement and control all aspects of merchandise planning to ensure the profitability and efficient servicing of our stores.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Working closely with our fashion Buyers and suppliers.
    • Mastering the powerful systems combination of Retek and Arthur.
    • Ensuring that the right mix of merchandise reaches the right stores at the right price, right on time.

    Requirements

    • 4 or more years of experience preferably with a fashion retailer
    • B.Com, B.Sc or other numerate tertiary qualification
    • Analytical and organisational skills
    • Numeric ability
    • Systems orientation & knowledge (PLM; JDA, Arthur; Retek)
    • Strong Trader Ability
