This role is to lead Marketing in the South Africa and SAEM markets and is responsible for:

• Building brand strength and preference based on solid consumer insights
• Overseeing marketing programs to ensure best alignment of Mastercard resource against marketing to drive incremental profitable GDV and revenue
• Maximising franchise value by delivering greater customer support and increased value to key customers across South Africa and SAEM markets
• Be a key driver of operational effectiveness through in-depth integration within ecosystem partners’ activities to deliver on Mastercard’s digital agenda in South Africa and SAEM markets
• Ensuring consistency with worldwide global brand positioning
• Ensuring marketing resources and investments dedicated to efforts that are both relevant locally and in alignment with regional and global priorities and strategies
• Align and coordinate promotional and marketing activities within the broader marketing eco-system in line with product delivery strategy and Mastercard brand DNA

Function & Project Overview:

• MasterCard Southern Africa Division has a need to appoint an Opportunity & Risk Assessment individual to work on Domestic settlement business cases for the following markets: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mozambique and Seychelles. Working within MasterCard's business group model, the Analyst is responsible for performing an independent research and data collection on assigned targeted markets.
• The Analyst must have the ability to apply analytical skills and due diligence to identify and evaluate strategic business opportunities as well as advocate for an executive strategic decision on business investment for Domestic settlement in each of the identified markets.
• The business cases will seek approval to revise the domestic (intra-country) interchange rates for prepaid, credit, debit and Masterpass QR transactions in specified Emerging Markets within the Southern Africa Division across various merchant categories to support MasterCard’s growth across the Division.
