    IS Technology Specialist - Contractor

    Your role and responsibilities

    • In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction. Each day, you will apply IT knowledge and expertise to help solve complex technical or professional activities. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge about services and solutions, to contribute your expertise to enhance organizational efficiency.

    • This role is contributing to the IS Service in Longmeadow.

    You will be mainly accountable for:

    • Applications configuration and administration, including changes implementation.
    • Gathering, analyzing and documenting requirements from different levels of stakeholders.
    • Documenting detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Preparing test cases to cover all software functionality (optional).
    • Microsoft Office i.e O365 preferable, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerApps and any other relevant applications.
    • Validating and verifying developed solution.
    • Conducting acceptance tests with stakeholders.
    • Managing requirements changes.
    • Data maintenance, reports creation and maintenance (within application).
    • Writing technical documentation and building knowledge base for the application/s.
    • Supporting business to setup/environment new solutions.
    • Operational tasks execution and monitoring.
    • Application, incidents and change management for the relevant Application/s.
    • Collaboration with IS Applications and IS infrastructure teams.
    • Collaborates with IS and Business stakeholders, ARIC and IS compliance to ensure applications/solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
    • Assisting in the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of applications/solutions that support internal and cross-functional processes related to IS Services.
    • Engage with Group Internal Audit IS and compliance to ensure alignment and efficiency when required (i.e. during local audits).
    • IS solutions on assignment, is involved in the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of IS solutions/services.
    • IS Services is consulted, gives advice and supports the installation of new IS solutions/services, or the changing of existing IS solutions/services. When involved, delivers the appropriate IS solution/service according to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), in time, in budget and at quality.
    • Keeping service offering, polices and processes up to date for relevant application/s.
    • Governance for assigned tasks, executes all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACIS (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed, Support) specification.
    • Assist in IS projects where needed locally and globally.

    Qualifications for the role

    • Must have undergraduate Degree in Information Systems or Information Technology.
    • Strong Analytical, reporting skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft products, Windows 10, Microsoft Office (O365 preferable, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerApps)

    Experience in writing technical and support documentation.

    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to take a broad view of his/her position and take initiative to communicate, interact and cooperate with others.

    Project Engineer

    Your role and responsibilities

    • In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

    You will be mainly accountable for:

    • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
    • Provides technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
    • Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.
    • Finalizes ‘Fail-Safe Philosophy’ and other key concepts as part of Kick-Off and Design
    • Actively participates project meetings and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations.
    • Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
    • Applies basic Design Thinking / Design for Excellence concepts in projects.
    • Actively utilizes checklists to perform design verification according applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
    • Contributes and shares experiences in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.
    • Shares best practices Lessons-Learned documentation across different projects an disciplines.

    • Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.

    • Reports any contract / safety / quality / program / cost issues to Project Manager(s) for resolution.
    • Ensures Bill of Material (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations; and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material (PLOM).
    • Identifies and implements variation requests to support contract claims based on the approval from Project Manager.
    • Follows work plans and cost estimates provided by the Project Manager and ensures quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost.
    • Collaborates with the Supply Chain function and the Project Manager(s) to meet the contractual obligations.
    • Coordinates with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested.
    • Updates the engineering deliverables as-built.
    • Coordinates with Commissioning / Service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned (if applicable as part of the contract).
    • Updates the engineering deliverables post installation & commissioning (if applicable)

    Qualifications for the role

    • BSc or Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electrical/Light Current Engineering.
    • 4+ years’ experience in the field of Automation Engineering with extensive C&I experience in Power Generation & Water industry.
    • 800xA and Symphony Plus will be advantageous.
    • Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
    • Ability to understand and solve automation issues by fault finding.
    • Root Cause Analysis.

    Mechanical Hoisting Tender & Quotation Specialist

    Your role and responsibilities

    • Completing technical and commercial proposals for the Hoisting Business Line and taking responsibility for the accurate compilation of the full cost model for tenders
    • Coordinating activities with engineering, sales, legal department, supply chain and clients in order to ensure that complete and competitive offers are compiled
    • Performing preliminary design work for mine winder tenders, specifying and sizing the required equipment
    • Complying with the tender process and ensuring that the necessary procedures are followed, providing sales support for the electrical mine winders business and liaise with customers
    • Performing local and regional site visits to gather information required to prepare tenders
    • Being attentive to risks associated with the contractual and financial aspects associated with the compilation of tenders
    • Collaborating with the mechanical and electrical engineers to complete tenders requiring both mechanical and electrical solutions

    Qualifications for the role

    • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

    • National Diploma / University degree (engineering background preferable)
    • Minimum 5 years track record in sales or engineering related field to demonstrate capability to achieve business results.
    • Experience of business development with sales records for new customers/markets.
    • Mining segment (CMM) and SSA market knowledge preferred.
    • Market and products specific knowledge of LV and MV drive products is compulsory.
    • Experience with sales of electrical or mechanical products.
    • Proficient in computer skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and manage effective working relationships at all levels
    • Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
