    Formulator- Animal Nutrition

    PRIMARY PURPOSE
    Premix formulation and optimization. Take a leading role ensuring technical requirements and implementation of formulas at the manufacturing plant in Brits are met.  Ensure Product registration & labels are complaint and up to date.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    The main duties of this role will include:

    • Premix formulation & Optimization  
    • Tender premix formulation
    • Consultant’s premix formulation
    • ADM Portfolio maintenance
    • Operational formulation
    • Formulation Costing

    Regulatory

    • Maintain Product Registrations
    • Labels and SDS design

    Digital applications

    • Formulation software admin & maintenance
    • Matrix calculations

    Analytical control

    • NIR  : maintenance of device & calibrations, reporting

    THE CANDIDATE
    A relevant degree in B.Sc. Agric – Animal Nutrition
    Experience:

    • 2 years’ Experience in premix formulation of all species
    • 1 years’ Experience in production and operations environment
    • 1 years Industry experience

    Beneficial:

    • Animal nutrition and practices

    • Premix operational procedures
    • Raw materials used in animal feed industry
    • Good manufacturing practices and Quality and food safety systems
    • Registration as a “natural scientist” with the SACNASP

    Maintenance Supervisor

     

    Primary role:
    Responsible for installation, maintenance, safe operation, and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the Plant as required, supporting current assembly operations.
    Responsibilities:

    • Planning of annual maintenance schedule and capital approved new projects
    • Review and perform annual, monthly & weekly scheduled maintenance plans for all plant equipment and machinary
    • Liaise with operations manager on availability of plant & equipment for planned maintenance
    • Ensure ad hoc maintenance is performed on workshop buildings & equipment to minimise breakdowns
    • Allocate job cards in consultation with Operations Manager & Shift Supervisor
    • Provide budgeting input to Operations Manager
    • Sourcing & Purchasing of parts to prevent and minimise downtime
    • Active involvement in annual maintenance budget preparation
    • Continues Plant improvement/refurbishment
    • Coaching of correct equipment / machinery use & maintenance
    • Enforce Occupational Health & Safety within team
    • Execute station training and task observations as per predetermined schedule
    • Management of staff (immediate reports)
    • Apply corrective disciplinary measure as required.
    • Apply and enforce Occupational Health and Safety Standards where required
    • Identify and address non-compliance based on the instructions and suggest corrective actions
    • Raise the awareness of employees to risks relating to products, equipment etc.
    • Identify areas/actions that my contribute to safety risks
    • Understand, adhere to & maintain all relevant SHEQ documents & enforced services. Update & maintain all records & statistics. Complete all checklists & inspection lists of equipment at regular intervals.
    • Participate in “Safety Audit” according to the ADM’s Safety Policy.
    • Participate “Quarterly Safety meetings” at the team level according to the ADM’s safety policy.

    Qualifications:

    • N3
    • Millwright preferred
    • Artisan Trade Certificate – Diesel Mechanic, Fitter & Turner
    • Drivers’ license: Code 08, Code 11 recommended
    • Knowledge
    • In Depth knowledge in working with and maintenance of mixers, conveyer systems, load cells, pneumatics, and other machinery
